Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Pet Wrangler to join our Chewy Studios Team based in Dallas, Texas.  The ideal candidate has worked with animals in a professional setting, preferably with animal training experience.

The Pet Wrangler position will be part of the Pet Talent team that is dedicated to working with all of the pet talent for both video and photography.  This team works with the pet talent, pet parents, professional animal talent agencies, shelters and rescues, and the in-house content creators.  A big focus of this position is building the relationships with the pets and pet wranglers through training, consulting and scouting specific talent.  People skills are a necessity to be a successful Pet Wrangler.

Chewy Studios is a dynamic studio that creates photos and videos for web content, social media, TV commercials and more.  In most of the photos and videos, the main stars are pet talent.  

What You'll Do: 

  • Assist on sets to work through any challenges that arise
  • Work with Pet Talent Manager and Senior Pet Operation Specialist to schedule training opportunities
  • Scout new pet talent through local businesses and agencies
  • Encourage pets to perform desirable behaviors for the camera
  • Maintain pet talent database and update with relevant general and behavior animal information
  • Create and maintain procedure/training manuals for Pet Talent Team
  • Participates in meetings relevant to projects currently in production that require pet talent
  • Perform training sessions with cats and dogs; create training plans for regular guest pets
  • Help observe and reduce stress for pets on set
  • Supervise all interactions with the pets to ensure safety to pets and people in the Studio
  • Build a relationship with pet parents
  • Set up, break down, and clean pet holding areas
  • Assist Pet Talent Team, where needed (this could include onboarding, payment, SKU tracking)

What You'll Need:

  • 1+ years of Professional Animal Experience
  • Must be comfortable around all animals including cats, dogs, reptiles and rodents
  • No animal allergies

Bonus:

  • Knowledge of animal behavior/behavior analysis in the animal training field
