As the Okta on Okta Customer Identity Product Manager, you will report to the Leader of Okta on Okta Product and be a key team member that will build and execute a vision of what a world-class, comprehensive Customer Identity service should be to empower and harden Okta’s business. Utilizing Okta’s own Customer Identity capabilities, you will support your colleagues and business stakeholders through complex, high-impact identity security projects that utilize industry leading identity and security concepts, models, and practices. Responsibilities

Set and implement the roadmap for Okta’s own implementation of Customer Identity Cloud (CIC) for all business use cases; partnering with your Product counterparts in the Customer Identity Cloud product organization to influence their roadmap based on Okta’s own needs, and drive the implementation and user experience outcomes for their application within the business. You will guide Okta on Okta engineering capacity with an unwavering eye toward making Okta the most secure company in the world and constantly finding opportunities for improvement. Ultimately, with the goal that our implementation be the reference implementation of Okta technology. 

 

Support Okta’s implementation of the Okta CIC platform for our own customer identity use cases; driving technical and process improvements ensuring that our implementation is the most secure reference implementation of Okta technology. 

  • Understand development projects and work closely with development teams; ensuring best practices as it relates to software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Guide business customers through the entire project lifecycle; conduit between the business and technical delivery teams
  • Own the customer identity Okta on Okta roadmap and prioritization of projects the Okta on Okta engineers dedicate capacity to; including facilitating enhancements as well as new feature releases
  • Own, write and review requirements with business partners, product analysts and engineers across Okta; negotiate detailed requirements and solution design trade-offs
  • Define and implement best practice customer identity business processes, dashboards, use cases and documentation to ensure a robust and durable program
  • Lead the writing of user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Lead testing and quality control and assurance activities across departments
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for the team to reference and share with our internal customers

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in technical, business, and/or IT roles; specific experience working with development teams utilizing secure development lifecycle processes
  • 2+ years’ experience working with Customer Identity deployments
  • 2+ years’ experience managing a product or service within a technology organization or leading development projects
  • Proven track record of developing and executing on enterprise customer identity solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of general industry IAM concepts and best practices, particularly relating to customer identity
  • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as NIST/FedRamp, SOX, SOC, ISO, SOC2, PCI, ZeroTrust, SaaS Security Framework, Data Security Foundations, etc.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non technical audiences
  • Experience managing numerous, competing demands from stakeholders while maintaining excellent and on time delivery
  • Exhibit strong leadership and influencing skills in a complex, matrix environment and demonstrates the ability to broker agreements among diverse, differing, or completing priorities and perspectives
  • Confidence working within SDLC and agile methodologies
  • Okta Workforce, Okta Customer, and/or CIDPro certifications strongly preferred

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$158,000—$221,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $175,000—$245,000 USD
