About the job

We are seeking a talented Product Storyteller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting compelling narratives that showcase the value and impact of our products. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex technical concepts into engaging stories that resonate with our target audience. This role requires creativity, strategic thinking, solid writing skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and loves learning new tools and staying on top of marketing best practices

The role is highly cross-functional and requires a leader that enjoys navigating ambiguity, working in a fast-paced environment, aligning exec partners, collaborating with teams across time-zones and thinking globally.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Develop captivating narratives that highlight the features, benefits, and unique points of our products to support the product team outbound efforts.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and marketers to gather insights and information necessary for crafting compelling stories.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for storytelling and differentiation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and corporate communications, to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and stories.
  • Provide strategic counsel to the Product organization on storytelling matters, including story development, audience analysis, and positioning strategy.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of product storytelling initiatives, and iterate on strategies to continuously improve engagement and impact.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including presenting strategies and results to executive leadership.

Required:

  • 10+ years of outbound PM, GTM, technical communication, marketing experience or similar
  • 5+ experience in the software industry
  • Understanding of the enterprise sales cycle, persona needs, and what sellers need to be successful to align programs to drive business growth
  • Experience leading and developing all written and visual product communication.
  • Must be comfortable with a balance of day-to-day execution and high-level strategy for digital demand gen.
  • A great storyteller internally by reporting on success and learnings, and externally through targeted campaigns.
Location

This role will be remote and based in the U.S.

Travel

*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, and Washington. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $164,000-$205,000.
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $174,000-$217,000.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $193,000- $241,000.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
