About the Role:

The Localisation & Project Management team makes sure the Taskrabbit experience is fully localised throughout our markets, making it relevant and accurate for all users in the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Italy.  We also lead and project manage cross-functional initiatives with a focus on European growth, working closely with Product, Marketing, and the Operations teams, among other departments. 

We are seeking an experienced localisation specialist to join the team, taking care of all things French. You will coordinate French translation work with our dedicated external agencies, and you will also translate, transcreate, proofread and/or edit content for the French-speaking markets as needed. Ideally, you’ll be able to provide a creative input too, including writing your own copy. 

Being the guardian of our tone of voice in French, you’ll be responsible for updating language assets and you’ll work with the key stakeholders of the French market, supporting with localised content, guidance on cultural adaptation and localisation best practices.

As part of the Localisation and Project Management team, you’ll also lead and coordinate cross-functional projects, with a focus on content and SEO, and have an active role in the growth and development of the Taskrabbit business and communities across all markets.

What you will work on:
  • You will manage the workflow of translation requests for the French-speaking markets.
  • Maintain reference materials for linguists and translators to keep a consistent voice in French.
  • Work with the Localisation & Project Management team to cover content requests from all teams: Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Design, etc. 
  • Coordinate work with our dedicated translation agencies, and build a relationship with all localisation stakeholders.
  • Perform QA checks as part of our Localisation Quality Programme, to ensure French translations provided by vendors are of the highest standard.
  • Translate and/or review translations directly on our dedicated CAT tool (Smartling).
  • Take a lead role in improving the user experience in our European markets, with periodic auditing of our platform and content.
  • Lead on EU content production for SEO projects, working closely with Marketing counterparts.
  • Organise and project manage localisation audits, testing the full user journey in our localised version of the web and app.
  • Project manage cross-functional initiatives, working with teams in different areas and time zones.
What we are looking for:
  • French (France) native speaker.
  • Minimum 6+ years localisation experience with a strong background in translation, linguistics, content creation and cultural adaptation. 
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills. You are capable of carrying out all duties in a fast-paced environment as part of a remote international team.
  • Solid understanding of CAT tools, particularly Smartling.
  • Experienced project manager, capable of working cross-functionally and delivering on time.
  • A passion for language, communication and storytelling.
  • A team player - You’ll be joining a small, cohesive team.
  • Comfortable working on content and requests from different functions: Marketing, Product, CS, Partnerships, SEO, etc. 
  • Confident with digital marketing terminology.
  • Very strong attention to detail and curiosity about how things work - Experience in QA is an added advantage.
  • We’re looking for someone based in London or the surrounding areas.

Compensation & Benefits:

At Taskrabbit, our approach to compensation is designed to be competitive, transparent and equitable. Total compensation consists of base pay + bonus + benefits + perks. The annual gross pay range for this position is £64,000 - £78,000. This is the base pay only, and does not include any other total cash compensation amounts, such as company bonus or benefits.
