About the job

This position is needed to lead strategic initiatives across the Controllership organization and steer multiple projects from ideation and strategy through planning, execution and go-live.  

The Controllership Business Operations team is responsible for maintaining scalable project management and governance processes, driving process improvement efforts, and enabling our cross-functional teams to execute on priority initiatives quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, working alongside members of the Controllership organization (Accounting, Tax, Payroll, S2P, OTC) and other cross-functional teams (Billing Platform, Financial Systems Enablement, IT/Support, ERP PMO, M&A, Finance) to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget. 
  • Develop detailed project plans to ensure appropriate resourcing, monitor progress,  and flag risks. 
  • Use appropriate tools and techniques to measure project and team performance against OKRs and support reporting of operational metrics.
  • Drive critical change management efforts. Communicate with the team and stakeholders throughout the project; focus on solving problems, and create a space where new ideas are encouraged, discussed, supported and developed. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to key business partners by collecting and refining business requirements and facilitating prioritization conversations.  
  • Identify process improvement gaps and recommend continuous improvement on processes.

Required: 

  • 6 or more years project management experience across the project lifecycle (strategy>planning>execution) in Finance/Accounting, operations or financial systems  
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives while executing tactical project level tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, including effective facilitation of prioritization and resource decisions
  • Deep understanding of project management systems and tools
  • Demonstrated success with structured critical thinking, change management, problem-solving, process re-engineering, business analysis, written and verbal communication.
  • Familiarity with best practices around internal controls; experience working in a SOX-compliant environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence horizontally and vertically and create effective working relationships with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization

Desired:

  • Project Management or Agile Certification (PMP, SAFe, CSM, Six Sigma) 
  • Experience with Oracle ERP, Anaplan, Zuora, Salesforce, Zendesk, LucidChart, Airtable

Location

This role will be remote based in Canada, preferably EST/CST time zones.

Travel
