Overview

The Quality Inspector supports daily production operations through inspection, analysis, thorough documentation, and effective communications. This position reports to the Operations Quality Manager but may take direction from customer and operations quality engineers (QE). This individual is expected to be a self-starter that can organize, prioritize, and execute tasks daily. This individual will act as the eyes and ears of the quality department in manufacturing operations. This individual must be comfortable working with production operators, floor supervisors and members of the quality assurance department. 

Responsibilities

  • Conducting quality control inspections on sensor head assemblies and sub-assembly components to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Identifying the non-conforming issues with sensors/components during inspections and taking appropriate action to address them
  • Documenting inspection results and maintaining quality control records
  • Must be able to enter basic data into applicable database
  • Read & understand basic mechanical and electrical blueprints, procedures & work instructions to perform inspections and related activities
  • Utilize measurement tools as need arise to facilitate the inspections
  • Familiar with handling MRB rejected material
  • Drive containment activities for suspect material
  • Support Quality Engineers on problem solving activities

Minimum Qualifications

  •  Associate degree or high school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer knowledge: MS Office, Word, Excel
  • Hands on experience with measuring tools like Calipers, Torque meters etc.
  • Some electrical background
  • Able to support weekend overtime as needed

At Luminar, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays a base between $23 and $32 per hour. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
