Sales Operations Analyst

The TeamOur Sales Strategy and Planning team, part of the broader Sales Operations group reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), is dedicated to empowering our Sales team to act and grow more efficiently. We serve as business partners to the Sales Organization, focusing on a variety of strategic initiatives. Your responsibilities will include analyzing inefficient business processes, piloting new sales roles, addressing obstacles in the sales process, and deriving meaningful insights from sales data.
We are seeking a Sales Operations Analyst to support the expanding Sales Strategy & Planning function, specifically partnering with the Pacific Rim sales leadership. The Pacific Rim region, which falls under the APAC umbrella, includes China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea. This area represents a growing market for MongoDB, driven by both direct sales and key partnerships with local cloud vendors.
Success in this role will depend on your ability to build strong relationships and establish credibility with the sales team while driving strategic initiatives that accelerate revenue growth. In addition to core sales strategy functions, this position will also provide support for the China partner business.
ResponsibilitiesThis role encompasses dual responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Play a critical role within the sales strategy org, focusing on sales processes, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Analyze sales data, performance metrics, and trends to provide actionable insights for the sales and management teams.
- Develop and maintain sales dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making.
- Master company tools related to forecasting, planning, CRM (Salesforce), and dashboards, providing training to the sales team as needed.
- Monitor the end-to-end sales process, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for streamlining to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the sales team to gather feedback and insights for refining and optimizing sales workflows.
- Participate in quarterly and annual business planning for the Sales teams.
- Support for Partnership with China Cloud provider:
- Oversee the order booking process with cloud vendors, coordinating with internal functions (legal, finance, pricing) to ensure timely order processing.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and collaboration, e.g. transitioning from manual reporting processes to automated solutions for scalability.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication on projects that involve multiple departments, including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, and Operations.
- A Bachelor’s Degree with a quantitative focus (Economics, Finance, Mathematics, etc.)
- Fluent in Mandarin and English
- At least 2 years of experience in either Sales Strategy / Consulting / Sales Operations / Analytics
- 1+ years experience supporting sales leadership and working within a management team
- Strong SQL knowledge with an ability to write SQL queries to extract data needed for analysis
- Have strong ownership and high responsibility, logical thinking;
- A spreadsheet wizard with the ability to manipulate and analyze data;
- Experience with at least one major BI tool (Tableau, Google Data Studio, Looker);
- You are familiar with databases, and the differences between “relational” vs. “non relational”
