The role

You are an ambitious accountant who wants to make a major impact on the financials of a MDAX listed company. You like to report the financial impact of some of the important central functions in the holding company of our international group. You are an excellent communicator who enjoys collaborating with people who possess a diverse set of talents. You are dedicated to details and have a strong interest in numbers. You have the mindset to keep an accounting team and processes up-to-date and innovative.

What you’ll do
  • Responsibility for the complex areas of the month end close processes, such as the preparation and upload of journals and the preparation and review of key account  reconciliations
  • Calculate intercompany charges and supervise intercompany invoicing.
  • Supervise and review the work of junior accountants in the team
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reporting in accordance with IFRS and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses by researching and interpreting data.
  • Key point of contact for internal stakeholders, such as FP&A, Tax, Internal Audit, Legal and Group Reporting teams and for external stakeholders, such as auditors and banking partners.
  • Continuously design process improvements for the team’s accounting activities and evaluate roll-out potential into other accounting teams in the organization
  • Additional responsibilities for special projects as they arise
What you’ll bring
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Degree in economics, business administration, finance or a similar field
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting/finance
  • Highly fluent in the language of P&Ls, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flows according to IFRS and German GAAP (HGB)
  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough with the desire for continuous improvement
  • Eager in self-education in modern tools and technologies and adoption for own work environment
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google spreadsheets and standard accounting systems
  • Bonus points for: Oracle and Adaptive know-how
  • Ability to analyze large data sets
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a sense of humor
