Join over 6,000 people across the globe who think that’s work worth doing.     Senior Accountant (Tokyo) Why We Have This Role This Senior Accountant based in Tokyo, Japan will be part of an Asia Pacific (APJ) controllership team and report to our APJ Financial Controller based in Sydney. Their main responsibility will be accounting operations and controllership of the Qualtrics Japan business, but will also need to be a bridge and provide insight to the team on the unique business culture and practices in Japan. This person will aid in the success and growth of this critical region, and be part of a streamlined and global team that is capable of bringing the business forward into tomorrow.   How You’ll Find Success

  • Ability to work with a global organization, and hands on opportunity for involvement in accounting operations for other global regions.

Things You’ll Do
  • Assist in month, quarter, and annual financial close processes. Prepare journal entries, review general ledger accounts, and prepare reconciliations.
  • Prepare schedules and financial statements for quarterly reviews, statutory requirements, tax filings, and annual audits.
  • Support the financial control and management of Japanese and other APJ entities.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS, even better if also JGAAP.
  • Automate accounting processes as well as other business processes.
  • Help drive and improve all key finance cycles.
  • Bookkeeping and cash management responsibilities.
  • Japanese translation, both written and verbal, for the Finance team.
  • Help with other accounting duties and ad-hoc requests.
  • Manage key accountant relationships.
What We’re Looking For On YourResume
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of JGAAP and/or US GAAP accounting experience
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English.
  • Demonstration of historic use of analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a team while physically remote
  • NetSuite experience preferred
