Position Overview: 

The Accounts Payable Senior Accountant is a member of the corporate accounting team and is responsible for assisting with accounts payable/treasury functions for StepStone’s investment funds.

 

Eessential Job Functions:

The position requires a hands-on, proactive, and highly detail-oriented individual who will process accounts payable items and work closely with StepStone’s corporate accounting, fund accounting, legal team, and external vendors both domestic and international.  Further, this position requires strong Excel skills and being able to aggregate and present large amounts of data, while meeting strict deadlines.

Specific activities include:

  • Perform day-to-day accounts payable activities, including but not limited to:o    Respond to and track responses in the Fund AP inboxo    Initiate and process new vendor name and new fund name set-ups in NetSuiteo    Process vendor invoiceso    Process vendor bill upload templates with fund level allocationso    Prepare allocation of costs by fund in the Due From Funds (“DFF”) processo    Bill funds for expense reimbursements
  • Perform treasury function, including but not limited to:o    Complete verbal confirmation for bank instructions for new vendorso    Prepare Wire/ACH templates and initiate transactions set up in online banking systemo    Distribute remittance advice to vendorso    Prepare bank reconciliationso    Ensure that vendor payments are processed in a timely mannero    Process cash receipts/reimbursements from Fundso    Ensure the accuracy for application of fund reimbursements o    Track the DFF aging and seek estimated reimbursement timelineso    Prepare bi-weekly cash projection
  • Perform month-end close activities, including but not limited to:o    Reconcile associated balance sheet accountso    Create fund reimbursement invoices and provide to the Fund Accounting teamo    Perform DFF’s reconciliation and distribute the reconciliation to the Fund Accounting teamo    Resolve any DFF discrepancies
  • Provide requested information to the Fund Accounting team, as needed
  • Perform other duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate
  • Assist with preparation of Form 1099 data
  • Assist with audit requests, as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of two to five years of progressive accounting experience
  • Acute attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage priorities against key deadlines
  • Solid foundation in accounts payable procedures and accounting principles
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft office programs
  • NetSuite (or similar ERP) experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills

 

Salary: $75,000 - $100,000

The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position.  Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience.  The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
