The Supplier Scam and Compliance team within Global Partner Support (GPS) is looking for a strong Senior Analyst to support our scam-finding efforts. We aim to catch and prevent suppliers from defrauding Wayfair, something they attempt to do in a variety of ways. We also aim to build better system incentives so that suppliers are incentivized to follow our policies and disincentivized to attempt to scam us. This role will focus on building out data indicators for finding supplier scam, iterating on our definitions of fraud and corresponding punishment, and working cross-functionally to add to our analytical capability (e.g. advanced analytics, new potentially useful data sources, etc.).

This role will be the key analytical driver for identifying bad actors and will help surface potentially scammy suppliers to our team of investigators who will then dig further into the details and make a determination. We are looking for someone who can be creative with data, think beyond the norm to find outliers, and essentially give bad actors nowhere to hide. The ideal candidate should be highly adaptable, strong with data manipulation and analysis, and able to navigate many cross-functional teams and learnings within Ops and other orgs.

What You'll Do

  • Work as a data analyst focused on supplier data - responsible for reporting and metric ownership and maintenance, definition and development of key indicators, process design of investigation workflow, and intake coordination
  • Design and implement metrics / scripts to gather insights from supplier behavior
  • Iterate on and maintain KPIs and dashboard
  • Support development of communications for regular business reviews with cross-functional leadership teams
  • Help coordinate and prioritize daily work for 3 L2 operational specialists
  • Design new workflows to improve supplier behavior, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders across the company to ensure success
  • Optimize existing workflows to increase hit-rate, reduce false-positives

What You’ll Need

  • BA/BS degree or relevant experience, ideally in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering
  • Excellent analytical skillset - can write scripts, define the data needed, build reporting, conduct analyses
  • Comfort with developing, delivering, and improving KPIs
  • Strong communication skills, both written, and verbal - will need to work with cross-functional stakeholders to track down correct data sources and know how to use them
  • Existing Wayfair operations knowledge or willing to learn Wayfair operations in and out
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and driving process improvements, garnering input from stakeholders to drive projects forward
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, self-reliant and able to motivate others. Will report to a manager in another location so will often need to be able to work independently
  • Experience with retail, supply chain, logistics and/or ecommerce is a plus
