What we do in Performance Marketing 

We are a world class performance marketing team that focuses on managing large-scale marketing campaigns across all areas of travel and devices. We have a test and data-driven approach that lets us scale what works while optimizing world-wide initiatives in close collaboration with product, analytics, engineering, creative, and brand. We are heavily ramping up our app marketing this year and are looking to supercharge growth through experimentation within both existing and new marketing channels.

What you’ll do:

The Senior App Marketing Manager will report into the Associate Director of Performance Marketing and be responsible for driving acquisition and activation for our mobile app. You will own our ASO and ASA efforts while also coordinating the execution and optimization of our paid marketing app strategy by partnering with channel owners across paid search, social, affiliate and display advertising. You will also own new channel testing and work with both external vendors and internal cross-functional partners in Creative, Product, Analytics and Engineering. 

You will quickly assess acquisition channels, test campaigns, and productionalize successful initiatives. You will own relationships with key data and measurement partners, and understand integration with proprietary Tripadvisor data. We’re looking for an experienced, agile, entrepreneurial, and proactive person that can show measurable progress towards strategic company goals. 

 

The Senior App Marketing Manager will be responsible for, among other things:

  • Developing and driving a test roadmap for paid app marketing campaigns, globally.

  • Day-to-day management and optimization of our ASA and ASO campaigns.

  • Ownership of our MMP partner for marketing use cases and support other teams with use of the MMP platform and reporting.

  • Identifying and testing new paid channels and vendors to drive installs and engagement.

  • Working closely with a highly experienced team of marketers, analysts, and data scientists.

  • Partnering with the dedicated engineering team for channel integrations and measurement requirements.

  • Partnering with the Integrated Marketing team who owns creatives, value proposition development and performance across free channels (email, onsite etc).

  • Tracking, analyzing, and reporting on key performance metrics and identify areas of opportunity to improve KPIs across areas of responsibility

  • Providing updates on app marketing performance to wider marketing team, finance and leadership team.

  • Advising on digital and app marketing best practices, the latest tools and systems.

 

What are we looking for? 

We’re looking for someone who’s analytical, proactive, strategic, not afraid to speak up, and ready to take the lead on our paid app marketing. 

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing across multiple channels with proven success in app marketing campaigns with first-hand experience in ASA and ASO campaigns.

  • Experience working closely with marketing, engineering and data science partners to develop custom tools and strategies to maximize performance.

  • Proven track record of standing up new campaigns from scratch and scaling them globally.

  • Experience working with MMP vendors such as Appsflyer to ensure best-in-class tracking and attribution.

  • Deep understanding and experience in leveraging 1st and 3rd party data, and in dealing with ever changing privacy regulations across geos.

  • Exceptional problem solving, communication, and analytical skills

  • Ability to think and act creatively, strategically, and tactically

  • Strong, relentless attention and focus to details.

  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at one-time with many stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of and affinity for emerging trends in app tracking, measurement and performance marketing.

  • High self-motivation with a sense of urgency, strong project management skills.

The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $155,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
