This is a hybrid role based out of our Boston office. 

Focus: Complex Product Operations and Quality 

Who We Are: Wayair’s Global Product Addition team is responsible for launching thousands of new products on a daily basis and is looking to improve merchandising speed, consistency, and quality towards our goal of launching perfectly merchandised products at scale. The Product Addition process operates like a digital factory with a variety of workflows specifically designed to ensure all newly launched products meet Wayfair’s high standards. Product Addition is a highly visible space at Wayfair as launching products quickly and correctly is a top priority for both suppliers and internal stakeholders. 

Role Background: Wayfair has millions of products in our online catalog. Many of these are especially large furniture products (like sectionals) or sets that include multiple furniture pieces (like bedroom or dining sets). These products have nuances that impact how we collect information from suppliers, merchandise the products on site, and sell and fulfill these large orders. This role is responsible for overseeing and improving the merchandising processes for these products which require increased attention. These products make up a significant percentage of Wayfair revenue and the work this team drives is highly visible across the company. This position offers the opportunity to work cross functionally, manage vendor relations, develop strong data analysis and communication skills, and optimize workflows. In this role, you will frequently interface with teams across Merchandising, Operations and Tech/ Engineering. You’ll also have the opportunity to work directly with some of our most valued suppliers, ensuring their experience with their most complex products is efficient and accurate.

What will this role do:

  • Partner with cross functional teams to align on strategy and execution, including Category Management, Operations and Tech teams 
  • Workflow design and process optimization; Work with engineering partners to improve and expand supporting tech 
  • Investigate process gaps and tech failures that lead to poor customer outcomes; Implement long term solutions and monitor effectiveness 
  • Manage vendor relationships, including conducting quality audits and providing regular feedback and coaching to improve performance
  • Partner with stakeholders to create or improve internal and supplier-facing education materials and process documentation 
  • Engage with suppliers to identify opportunity areas for the workflow 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) earned by date of hire. Focus in business strategy, operations, and process-improvement is a plus.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong quantitative skills - analytical, problem-solving mindset with ability to find creative solutions
  • Experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Google suite - familiarity / proficiency with SQL and/or Google Big Query is a plus
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communication style based on the audience
  • Excellent attention to detail, proactively identifying deviations from expectations and driving solutions
  • A proactive problem-solver and process-improver, able to manage and prioritize multiple on-going projects and pivot nimbly to accommodate changing strategies.
  • A solution-oriented individual, able to manage time effectively by creating and keeping deadlines.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and drive to take on new projects and learn new processes, skills, and technology.
