The Samples Platform oversees digital swatches and physical samples. Our vision is: Digital, high quality swatches give customers confidence without physical touch & feel. When needed, physical samples are easy to find, and simple and effective to order. The follow-up experience is helpful, engaging, and makes purchasing the actual product easy, and internally, we enable strategic programs such as Custom, 3D asset creation, and Physical Retail.

The platform’s goal is to ensure customers across platforms and geos get the experience they need to feel confident and place an order. Samples and swatches are table stakes across the industry; top competitors for luxury, SRB, flooring, key upholstery brands and more make both e-commerce and in-store sampling available to their customers.

Role Background:

The Samples Platform Senior Associate is responsible for facilitating and managing the digital and orderable sample experience on Wayfair.com & its brands. This role is a key contributor to our team's ambitious OKRs- including creatively improving digital swatch and orderable sample coverage across strategic suppliers and classes to build customer confidence in their purchases and maximize value for Wayfair and the supplier through reduced returns, increased conversion, and customer loyalty.  This role also plays a critical role in supporting our platform strategy and operations through program process improvements, metric reporting, and understanding suppliers needs & the competitive landscape to drive a best in class digital swatch & orderable sample experience.

 

The role will have direct interaction with our key stakeholders in Category Management, Product Merchandising, and Platform Merchandising including Product Addition, Enrichment and Findability. It’s an exciting, unique role, combining partner relationships, cross-functional collaboration with other Wayfair departments, process optimization, and reporting.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve progress on multiple initiatives such as; digital swatch coverage, orderable samples coverage, and ad hoc supplier issues.
  • Utilize Samples data to identify and root cause sample performance or customer experience issues, define and apply process improvements
  • Track and share best practices to inform short and long term improvements to the samples programs and platform based on competitor and customer data, and supplier performance
  • Proactively troubleshoot and root cause platform bugs and errors through Google Big Query scripts, partnering with other Samples Platform team members, and connecting with tech and storefront partners 

What You’ll Need

  • 3+ years of experience 
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in business strategy, operations, and process-improvement is a plus.
  • Strong quantitative skills - analytical, problem-solving mindset with ability to find creative solutions
  • Experience with Google suite - familiarity / proficiency with Google Big Query and Looker is a plus
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communication style based on the audience
  • Excellent attention to detail, proactively identifying deviations from expectations and driving solutions
  • A proactive problem-solver and process-improver both as an individual and in partnership with others. Able to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple on-going projects and pivot nimbly to accommodate changing strategies, holding self and cross functional partners accountable.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and drive to take on new projects and learn new processes, skills, and technology.
