Position Overview

The Sr. Associate/Manager on the Corporate Finance team in Charlotte, NC will be integral member of the StepStone Private Wealth (SPW) team, and will be responsible for assisting the Managing Director and Controller of SPW with day-to-day accounting of the company’s long-term investment and intercompany activities including financial planning, forecasting, and analysis efforts, and helping to provide the leadership team with information required to have a clear and accurate understanding of the organization's current financial situation and drive business performance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Own developing a robust budgeting and rolling forecasting framework, implementing the process with strong support from Leadership
  • Understand the mandate, processes, and value drivers in each of our business functions, working closely with department heads to develop and review their quarterly/annual work plans and budgets
  • Collaborate with business, finance and accounting leadership in analyzing, aligning and reporting key business drivers
  • Maintain and develop insightful financial and operational metrics
  • Automate and standardize report generating processes and the distribution of information
  • Deliver financial and KPI analyses with a high degree of ownership and independence
  • Explain methodology for data reporting across the firm and reconcile different sources of information for management reporting
  • Produce and disseminate ongoing management financial insights to the business and Finance Leadership
  • Develop financial presentations for Sr. Management and Board of Directors
  • Collaborate with SPW and SSG Leadership including the Chief Financial Officer in the development of company financial targets; perform external/ industry benchmarking
  • Partner with accounting staff in monthly and quarterly review of financial statements as part of the ongoing close process and reporting calendar, providing insight on significant variances
  • Develop materials for and coordinate periodic meetings with budget holders to review variance analysis
  • Lead ad hoc projects with limited oversight

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • Excel experience that includes the ability to design and maintain complex financial models and to create high-quality financial presentations
  • 8+ years of progressive financial analysis and/or accounting experience
  • Experience using an ERP system such as NetSuite
