The Opportunity:

The Product Data Management team enables some of the largest and most influential global brands to store and manage their inventories in our MACH SaaS platform. Our team owns the models that store those products and the back-office management tools.

We are a team of enthusiastic, experienced, agile, and international software engineers. We are passionate about ensuring that our systems fit the needs of our customers, consume resources responsibly, and can scale to accommodate drastic traffic spikes. Your Mission:

• Design, implement and extend our SaaS eCommerce backend in Scala, as well as our core infrastructure components like database mappings and web service APIs
• Participate and contribute to the team’s roadmap, technical decisions and planning, both by producing quality proposals, giving meaningful feedback and driving alignment
• Develop a scalable and multi-tenant architecture, allowing our customers to efficiently manage thousand of products variants
• Test software components regarding usability, functionality and performance, and work closely with Product Management
• Take part in on-call rotation (with the worldwide distributed team) for production systems

What you need to succeed:

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, developing server-side systems using the JVM
• 3+ years of experience with functional programming languages, preferably Scala
• Experience in developing scalable REST APIs on a cloud platform
• Track record of driving architectural discussions and initiatives
• Experience mentoring team members and supporting their growth
• Proficiency in English is required for effective communication within our international teams

Nice to have:

• Experience with MongoDB or Elasticsearch
• Experience being on-call for production systems
