The Team:

You will be part of the global Competitive Engagement team. It is a strategic function within the Value Engineering organization responsible for the entire customer value journey. Our Competitive Engagement team ensures Celonis wins competitive projects to maintain and grow the customer base and contributes to market education. We provide strategic advice, cutting-edge tools, and best practices for our teams, creating a competitive edge. To our executive team, we deliver vital recommendations to improve product and Go-To-Market strategy while driving strategic initiatives to advance the Execution Management software category.

The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with 2-5 years of experience in an operational role to move into this interdisciplinary function within our Center of Excellence with a strategic impact and global reach.

You will report to the leader of the Competitive Engagement team. As a key player in a high-impact team,  you will be the expert in translating our customers’ business challenges into solutions within our product offering, creating a unique value proposition only Celonis can offer. Your deep understanding of the competitive landscape, adjacent software categories, and technology trends facilitates this.Finally, you will blend process and industry expertise with proven consulting and analytical skills in this interdisciplinary role. You will drive projects autonomously and collaborate with external customers/partners and internal stakeholders (e.g. Go-to-Market, Product Management, Corporate Strategy, Market Intelligence) 

The work you’ll do:

Drive competitive & strategic customer projects 

  • Be the trusted advisor of our Account Teams (Sales & Customer Success) in competitive projects & deals. This includes speaking with customers to differentiate Celonis from other vendors or coaching the teams on how to outmaneuver them
  • Ensure a robust competitive differentiation and showcase the strategic and quantitative value of our solution in every engagement (e.g., in executive pitches, product demos, and proposal responses)

Build a global engine to win

  • Innovate and create scalable tools & methods for our global Go-To-Market organization to execute better and win
  • Establish and maintain a thorough understanding of our competitive landscape and adjacent technological categories to enable our Go-To-Market teams to succeed

Support our hypergrowth journey 

  • Conduct trend analysis and debriefs on competitive deals together with Market Intelligence and report back to the executive team to improve our product and sales strategy
  • Collaborate with our Product Marketing & Corporate Strategy team to define the way we present our value proposition and support strategic (C-Level) initiatives to advance the Execution Management software category (e.g., analyst evaluations)

The qualifications you need:       

  • 2-5 years experience in solution engineering / pre-sales, management consulting, product marketing, market intelligence, executive assistent or a comparable customer-or strategy related role
  • Good knowledge of the IT / Software market landscape and experience with business software solutions from a vendor or implementation/management consulting perspective
  • Solid understanding of business processes and experience in identifying use cases for process improvement;  ideally expertise of the Finance and/or Supply Chain domain or strategic transformation initiatives
  • Experience with value selling and  go-to-market strategy
  • Ability to see the strategic big picture while also working on the detail
  • Interest in interdisciplinary work and desire work strategically to master market dynamics and competitive advantage
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels. Fluency in English. German or French would be a plus.
  • Strong university degree in Technology & Management, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a comparable program
  • Agile and team-oriented, ability to give and receive feedback, change tact, and collaborate with a team to achieve a goal#LI-SS6
