Who you are:
We’re looking for someone to become the voice for SumUp Pay, our flagship Consumer product, owning the tone of voice and words that our customers see.
This person will be a central part of the brand and marketing strategy, and the role is best suited to someone who’s flexible, and enjoys working iteratively in a fast-paced environment.
As the first few members in the Marketing team in our Consumer Tribe, you will have autonomy to build processes from scratch, solve impactful problems and shape the future of the team. You will be working closely with our Design, Data and Product functions and our E&P team to scale our consumer product across Europe.

What you’ll do:
We need to develop a voice for SumUp Pay, and establish a consistent tone of voice throughout our customer touchpoints – from in-app and UX language, through to marketing campaigns and essential customer comms.
The way we speak to our customers should be clear, consistent and embody our brand, across all channels and customer touchpoints
- Create and manage content across various platforms, including:
- UX writing: Write clear and concise copy for the SumUp Pay app, ensuring that the language and tone are clear and drive product understanding and engagement
- Customer messaging: Develop clear and effective messaging for all customer communications, across email, notifications, customer support and in-app messaging
- Collaborate with Design and Product teams to ensure a consistent tone of voice for SumUp Pay
- Analyse content performance in the UK market and make data-driven decisions to improve engagement and conversion rates
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners where needed, such as agencies and freelancers, for campaign delivery
You’ll be great for this position if:
- You enjoy and are comfortable developing messaging frameworks
- You love experimenting with different messages to see which performs best
- You’ve got great project management skills, and can manage multiple projects at the same time
- You’ve got experience writing and marketing to UK consumers – any other markets are a bonus!
- Have experience of fintech or consumer finance products
