Senior Counsel, Commercial

Lyft is hiring an experienced, talented and self-motivated Senior Counsel, Commercial to join our commercial legal team and support Lyft’s commercial transactions, focusing on advertising and marketing, enterprise sales and other commercial contracts. You will be the primary attorney supporting our Lyft Media advertising platform, which provides engaging ad content across multiple digital and out of home environments. You will also support our Lyft Business enterprise solutions enabling diverse organizations to provide business travel, commuting and ride programs to their employees, customers or students. You will strategize with business leaders and manage the negotiation and drafting process, including coordinating input from partners such as product legal, privacy and compliance. This is a fast-paced environment ideally suited for an organized and motivated individual ready to work closely with sales executives and establish playbooks and procedures to ensure that the legal support scales as Lyft Media and Lyft Business continue to expand.
Responsibilities:- Act as the lead legal advisor for Lyft Media, Lyft’s advertising and marketing and enterprise sales teams in partnership with product legal, privacy and compliance
- Review, draft and negotiate Lyft Business enterprise agreements between Lyft and all types of partners, including Fortune 100 companies, Federal, state and local governments and nonprofits
- Partner with Lyft Media and Lyft Business executives to determine the best approach to support business needs and manage risk to Lyft
- Develop and refine playbooks and processes to streamline negotiation process
- Provide trainings to Lyft Media and Lyft Business sales teams on areas relating to sales contracting, compliance and risk
- Advise Lyft Media and Lyft Business executives on a range of legal issues related to new and existing features of Lyft’s enterprise business
- Be a point of contact for legal issues for the commercial legal team, while collaborating closely with other legal and compliance teams to provide holistic advice, serving as a strategic thought partner for stakeholders
- 6+ years of experience working in a in-house legal department, law firm or private practice
- Ability and willingness to act as a mentor to a growing legal team, including communicating strategic vision, providing support and constructive feedback to team members
- Balanced approach to partnering with business executives to support and attain business goals while managing risk to Lyft and maintaining healthy and efficient Commercial Sales team
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record of supporting an in-house sales department with commercial agreements
- Ability to think quickly on your feet, convey grace under pressure, and simultaneously manage workloads, multiple client demands and shifting priorities.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $229,500 - $255,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
