In the Customer Balances team, we're working to build and optimise credit risk and collections capability at OVO, with a particular emphasis on reducing the bad debt charge and delivering good customer outcomes.

 

This role in a nutshell:

You'll be responsible for building out outstanding policies, processes and strategies across the whole credit risk lifecycle with a focus on early intervention, as well as collections and recoveries. The role supports the Head of Credit Risk & Collections Strategy on delivering our vision out across the business areas.

You’ll be working collaboratively with team members across the company to promote purpose-led, data driven decision making into our credit risk and collections landscapes to improve our business performance and customer outcomes.

 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Design and delivery of strategies to improve our customer outcomes and commercial performance in collections & recoveries
  • Own Policies for affordability, arrears management and customer contact, ensuring they follow relevant regulation 
  • Supervise performance of the portfolios to ensure they hit the customer and commercial important metrics
  • Working with team members from entry-level to Retail Leadership to build cross-functional teams to deliver against our collections and recoveries outcomes
  • Owning the identification, definition of key projects (problem statements) within collections and recoveries areas that enable us to achieve best-in-class capability
  • Adopt a continuous improvement approach, constantly finding opportunities to enhance policies / processes and adopt new tools / technologies 
  • Ability to present back complex problems / challenges to key team members in a simple, understandable way
  • Connect with the wider team and key collaborators on patterns and trends in credit risk and the external environment
  • Being the first point of contact for your team, managing any people related queries and conducting regular 121’s, performance reviews and team meetings

 

You’ll be successful in this role at OVO if you…

  • Have proven experience building out credit risk and collections strategies within Utilities or Financial Services
  • Approach everything with a data first approach and have experience utilising analytics to understand credit risk or collections performance
  • Can communicate clearly and deliver a succinct, confident message to a wide range of team members
  • Have strong awareness of the economic climate and regulatory environment related to credit risk
  • Are a proactive communicator and strong at managing relationships with others 
  • Are comfortable at juggling multiple things at once! there will be a lot of variety
  • Are passionate about improvement and getting things right for our customers. Proactively searching and discovering new opportunities to enhance our capabilities
  • Love solving complex problems and making a difference through delivery
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and fast pace change
  • Are open to new ways of working, adapting and merging of multiple methodologies
  • Are confident being front and centre of large groups, leading and educating the business on innovative ways of working

We’ll pay you between £70,000 and £80,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, let us know!
