About the team

The Forecasting Team is responsible for demand analysis and forecasting domains in our Parts Planning solution. The team’s current focus is on gradually moving forecasting calculations to a new, scalable AWS-based calculation platform, enabling the use of specialized calculation services and more efficient data storage technologies.

The Team is agile and cross-functional. It consists of very skilled and dedicated software engineers, product owner, QA engineers, and data scientists. The team needs an experienced DevOps engineer to evangelize and teach other engineers how to build and maintain a modern, scalable, efficient, and resilient cloud-native system.

About the role

As our Senior Product DevOps Engineer, you will join our development team (7-9 people) and closely cooperate with talented, but not-so-Ops software engineers. You will play a key role in shaping/reshaping our development and deployment processes. You'll have the opportunity to lead by example, architect innovative solutions, and mentor team members on best practices in cloud-native design and DevOps culture. Your expertise will be important in shaping our DevOps solutions around the machine learning forecasting initiative.

As a company, we are currently leading a major project to revamp our software architecture. That means you would be involved in, among other things, the topics of data mesh/service mesh and scaling our products in a combined component approach.

We are keen on new ideas and give freedom in the taken approach and experimentation - we want you to share your knowledge with us, as well as get the technical/knowledge support from the colleagues from the team you'll join!

What would you do?
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of DevOps best practices within our organization.
  • Evangelize the DevOps culture, principles, and methodologies to teams across various departments.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, QA, and security teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency and security.
  • Mentor and coach team members on DevOps concepts, tools, and techniques.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, monitoring, and feedback loops.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the DevOps space.
  • Prototype creative solutions and be able to take a project from prototype to production quality.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure in Syncron's largest product area (Supply Chain Solutions).
  • Actively suggest new tools and solutions to improve the Engineering Team’s work.
What we expect:
  • Proven experience in a DevOps role, with a deep understanding of DevOps principles and practices preferably from a DevOps mature organization.
  • Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, infrastructure as a code, and containerization technologies preferably confirmed with a relevant certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive cultural transformation towards DevOps adoption.
  • Passion for learning and sharing knowledge, with a desire to mentor and guide others.
  • Good coding skills in a modern programming language – e.g. Python, JavaScript/Typescript, Java, or other.
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud tech stack (ECS, Lambda, CloudWatch, S3, EMR, Spark, etc.).
  • Knowledge of: Terraform, Docker, Linux containers, GitHub (you will be using them daily) and other DevOps tools.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
