About the role

As Senior Director, Localization, you will lead the Translation & Subtitling team and the International Dubbing team overseeing localization of anime into an ever-growing volume of languages globally. You will manage a mix of vendors, contractors, employees around the world to achieve fast turnaround and high-quality localization that pleases our fans. You will be a leader in our Digital Supply Chain development and provide requirements for new global systems then implement use of those systems throughout the Localization pipeline. 

In this role, you will...

  • Oversee translation, subtitling/captioning and dubbing of Japanese content into English and international languages in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Develop strategic localization vendor relationships to ensure a balance of cost control with quality and speed expectations
  • Ensure translations, subtitles and dubs meet Crunchyroll quality standards 
  • Manage a large, diverse workforce with a mix of contractors, employees and vendors ensuring compliance with accounting and HR policies
  • Create accountability for all orders and deliverable completion and produce metrics for team results
  • Be the key business owner of Key Names and Phrases management throughout the content lifecycle
  • Evolve internal processes, systems and team structure to create modern workflows, best practices and KPIs
  • Provide excellent customer service to our teams relying on localization services

In the role of Senior Director, Localization, you will report to the VP Content Operations and Localization.

About the Team

Content Operations and Localization is the media asset management core of Crunchyroll. We work with our content partners in Japan to receive media, perform necessary QC and localize the content in order to deliver to the Crunchyroll platform and internal Marketing teams and 3rd party clients. Content Operations ensures titles launch on Crunchyroll on time and with highest possible quality.
