The Platform Network Engineering TeamOkta’s Customer Identity Cloud (CIC), powered by Auth0 technology, is an easy-to-implement authentication and authorization platform designed by developers for developers. The Senior Software Engineer OpportunityYou will be part of the Platform Network engineering team responsible for all connectivity of Okta’s Customer Identity Cloud (CIC). You will play a key engineering role as we evolve our network architecture to meet the demands of enormous growth and support the hundreds of millions of users who rely on us to provide uninterrupted access. You will get to work with engineers throughout the engineering organization. What you’ll be doing

• Implement internal and edge networking infrastructure and design solutions that work at global scale and with multi-cloud and multi-region constraints.
• Carry cross-team initiatives from end to end: code reviews, design reviews, operational robustness, security hygiene, etc.
• Design and develop new services, tools, and automation to expose network functionality to other Okta engineering and operations teams.
• Research and implement solutions addressing cross-cutting concerns such as routing, failover, and scaling.
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation.

What you’ll bring to the role

• Have 3+ years of software development experience in cloud-native services like API.
• Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and TLS.
• Have DevOps experience using cloud-agnostic, cloud-native technologies..
• Have experience managing infrastructure with Terraform.
• Have experience contributing to Go-based services.
• Have a passion for working on global distributed systems that are highly reliable, maintainable, scalable, and secure.
• Tend to deliver work incrementally to get feedback and iterate over solutions.
• Bring the right attitude to the team: ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!

• Experience with using cloud providers such as AWS or Azure and major content delivery networks.
• Have an understanding of Kubernetes, including ingress controllers, sidecar, overlay networks, network policies, etc.

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$136,000—$204,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $152,000—$228,000 USD
