Your TeamOur Global Finance organization ensures financial accuracy, transparency, and strong governance across the group. We combine solid accounting foundations with automation, scalable processes, and continuous improvement to support SumUpās growth.
As Senior ICFR Controller, you will take on a high-impact role tasked with advancing our governance framework and comprehensive ownership of internal control processes within the Finance function. You will shape and strengthen SumUpās control environment while ensuring high-quality IFRS reporting across a complex, multi-entity organization.

What You'll Do Internal Controls & Governance- Own and evolve SumUpās ICFR framework, including risk assessments, control design, documentation standards, and testing methodologies, ensuring alignment with leading practices and IFRS requirements
- Strengthen and modernise internal controls in a fast-moving, technology-driven environment, with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and embedded controls
- Assess the design and operating effectiveness of entity-level, process-level, and IT-dependent controls, and lead remediation of identified deficiencies through root-cause analysis and follow-up
- Act as the primary Finance contact for ICFR-related audits, partnering with internal and external auditors to deliver high-quality evidence, clear narratives, and efficient audit cycles
- Champion a strong culture of control awareness, accountability, and ethical financial reporting across a global Finance organisation of 100+ professionals
- Partner closely with Accounting, Controlling, FP&A, Tax, ERP, Legal, Procurement, and Corporate Development to embed controls into end-to-end processes
- Lead and contribute to IFRS, group reporting, and complex accounting projects, providing expert guidance and constructive challenge on judgments and risks
- Support Finance transformation initiatives, including system implementations, process redesign, and control scaling, translating complex topics into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders
- You bring 10+ years of experience in accounting, controlling, and the design and implementation of end-to-end ICFR frameworks within complex, multi-entity organisations
- You have hands-on experience owning monthly and annual close cycles, consolidations, and IFRS financial statements
- Youāre confident working with auditors and can clearly defend accounting positions and control assessments
- You hold a Masterās degree in Accounting or Finance
- Youāre fluent in English and comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
- Youāre proactive, hands-on, and enjoy driving change and continuous improvement
- You thrive in dynamic environments and are comfortable navigating ambiguity
- You bring strong stakeholder management skills, curiosity, and emotional intelligence
- ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent)
- CFA or Risk / Credit Management certifications
- Experience with finance automation tools or internal control software
