About the job

As a Senior Manager on the Global Events team, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and executing innovative marketing strategies to drive successful events and enhance brand visibility. This dynamic position requires a strategic thinker with a creative edge, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding event experiences.

This Senior Manager will own all content and production across our SIGNAL portfolio of events, including all keynote and breakout content for SIGNAL NAMER and regionally (São Paulo, Singapore, and London). This role will have a focus in content and production strategy development, planning, and execution for the global events portfolio working closely with senior leadership, product marketing, brand, product, sales and other cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Develop and own all content, production, and speaker management goals, processes, and timelines critical to the success of SIGNAL and all Tier 1 global events
  • Responsible for project managing the development of user focused programming (upwards of 100+ sessions and 250+ speakers).
  • Create and manage the global session agenda and run of shows including managing diverse speaker representation.
  • Develop a process for finding engaging and topical speakers (internal and external).
  • Responsible for managing the entire content process (pre, during, and post), including developing content for vertical keynotes, project managing the PMM team with all breakout sessions, selecting and preparing speakers for their respective presentations, providing both remote and onsite event support to speakers, Identify and manage best onsite delivery and set-up for all content (including room sets and A/V needs), call-for-papers campaign, PR/legal approval, rehearsal timelines, reporting and analytics.
  • Project management of PMMs include but not limited to; identify session leads (SMEs in for each topic), manage deliverables and deadlines, communicate expectations, timeline, and deadlines, communicate and train on virtual event best practices, scheduling and coordination amongst session leads, provide session templates, run content reviews, tech rehearsals and QA.
  • Implement a content management system to improve efficiency and customer experience, enabling high-velocity planning and execution of events.
  • Coordinate with the web team and session leads on securing and updating session titles, abstracts, speaker headshots, bios, agendas and tracks at all times for accurate event information.
  • Produce calendars and timelines to guarantee that messaging is communicated appropriately through all marketing channels.
  • Support the creation and distribution of digital materials for promotion. Work closely with our comms/pr and brand team to execute blog posts, speaker briefs, press releases and more.
  • Create and execute various reports that share key findings throughout content development and post-event cycles.
  • Oversee all logistical aspects of keynote and breakout production, including stage design, AV requirements, and space allocation. 
  • Manage production vendors and internal teams to ensure that technical requirements are met and that all production elements are executed flawlessly during the live event.
  • Organize and facilitate comprehensive rehearsals for keynote presentations, ensuring that speakers are comfortable with their content and that technical aspects run smoothly. 
  • Support overall Global Event Team initiatives. There is potential to grow in lead positions outside of content and production if desired.

Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing or Technology, preferred or, 5+ years of experience leading cohesive content and messaging strategies for keynotes, marketing initiatives or corporate messaging for physical and virtual conferences or trade shows.
  • Strong project management experience and organizational skills including the ability to set and drive requirements across multiple functional areas is required.
  • Enthusiastic team player with exceptional communication, writing, and interpersonal skills with high integrity and diplomacy.
  • Fearless communication skills both verbal and written. You are comfortable speaking with anyone, at any level of the organization via presentation, written, and spoken channels; internal or external.
  • Proven success in managing in a matrixed organization and working with virtual teams
  • Consultative approach to questions, concerns and issues
  • Ability and willingness to travel

Desired:

  • Content management system experience and strong Gsuite knowledge.
  • Skilled at being able to manage multiple workflows simultaneously and prioritize responsibilities, can easily follow up and manage competing priorities all under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to see the big picture instead of just the task in front of you, you are intellectually curious, ask questions, think strategically, and react with reason.
  • Industry knowledge relevant to APIs and customer data platforms, an advantage
  • Experience working with international teams and executing global events.
  • Desire to grow outside of content and production to support/lead ancillary events as schedules allow.

Location

This role will be remote, based in the United States, but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Travel 

We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, approximately 15% travel is anticipated to help you connect in-person in a meaningful way as well as execute SIGNAL events across the world.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $102,160 - $127,700.

  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $108,160 - $135,200.

  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
