The Team

Manage a team of 8 people based in Hong Kong and Shanghai serves operations for various functions, including CFS operations; Ocean carrier space booking, update and exception management; shipping document and broker communications to ensure customs clearance timeliness. The team's focus on cost efficiency and service level optimization is critical to the success of the organization. They work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all operations are aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. 

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Asia Operations, the position holder will be managing CFS  operations in Asia countries including China, Vietnam, Malaysia managing operations execution including order fulfillment, inbound delivery and warehouse receiving, outbound consolidation, container stuffing, container delivery to the port, third party partnership performance and execution. Establish and enforce redundant or fall back in freight booking and transfer services to achieve utmost reliability in end-to-end freight transfer. Lead the document team to ensure the shipping document issuance, verification and exceptions management to ensure the trade and document compliance and avoid any customs hold due to incorrect, incomplete and/or missing documents. Regional implementation and ongoing optimisation of system / process improvement initiates related to CFS, carrier booking and shipping document.

What You’ll Do

Deliver Results with Agility: 

  • Oversee the logistics operations execution in CFS, carrier booking and timeliness completeness of documentation creation to ensure efficient and cost effectiveness 

Order Processing 

  • Inventory Management in the CFS
  • Warehouse Management - Oversee the efficient and effective operation of warehouses, ensuring proper storage, handling, and inventory management procedures are in place. Develop and implement warehouse processes and standards to maximize operational efficiency and accuracy. 

Transportation and trucking (China only) 

  • Exception management on Packaging and Labeling
  • Information and Control 
  • Ocean carrier management to ensure timely booking and communicate exception for contingency
  • Documentation - timeliness, accurate and complete document 
  • Develop, and implement logistics strategies to optimize the operations process and ensure timely shipment. 

Innovate & Improve: 

  • Review existing 3PL contract and include changes to drive KPI achievement. 
  • Analyze KPI data, identify opportunities for improvement and communicate to key stakeholders to get their buy in and support. 
  • Facilitate optimisation of inbound and outbound freight management

  • Collaborate with shippers, 3PL, and transportation companies to coordinate the movement of goods and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and transportation companies to coordinate the movement of goods and resolve any issues that arise. 
  • Support the operations on all shipping matters, custom documentation and to ensure that schedules and shipments are conducted in a timely manner                         
  • Manage a team to ensure the following tasks related to ocean carrier spacebooking, trade compliance and document compliance 
  • Responsible for day-to-day sea export operations 
  • Liaising with all agents/factories about shipping document issues 
  • Manage sea bookings and procedures 
  • Communicate with Forwarder/Carriers about shipment booking & shipment information issue 
  • Ensure completion of sea export documentations in timely manner to avoid any customs hold
  • Coordinate with concerned parties for shipment arrangement
  • Develop and update SOP and internal procedures in line with customs laws for origin country import and export regulations, trade sanction etc. 
  • Ensure compliance of freight forwarders and custom brokers' declaration 
  • Implement and monitor specific measurements for business activities
