Shift: This position will offer a full time, consistent schedule. Will require availability to work weekends and evenings.

About the Role

The Senior Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and leads a team of supervisors, team leads, coordinators, and associates in a single shift or across multiple shifts. In the absence of a Production Manager, the Senior Supervisor is the primary point of contact for any operational and people escalations for the production function in a fulfillment center. The Senior Supervisor is responsible for any issue resolution in day-to-day operations, and when necessary, further escalates issues to the Manager levels. The Senior Supervisor is responsible for complete, timely, and accurate execution of Production processes: labor planning & scheduling, production planning, core production processes (kitting, casing, labeling, staging, sorting, portioning, outbound [multi-operations]).

What you will be doing:

  • Manage a shift or multi-shift operation with a team of production  supervisors, team leads, coordinators, and associates
  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and corrective actions in warehouse operations. Works directly with the Manager(s) to resolve issues, escalations, and corrective actions
  • Responsible  for complete, timely, and accurate execution of Production  processes: labor planning & scheduling, production planning, and core production processes (kitting, casing, labeling, staging, sorting, portioning, outbound [multi-operations])
  • Develop management schedule to ensure full coverage of processes
  • Accountable for key production  controls and metrics, including but not limited to safety near misses and incidents, labor efficiency, production errors, material yield and waste,  on-time delivery, and employee engagement
  • Facilitate training / train new and existing employees in production  operations best practices; Ensure strong understanding and adherence to standard operating procedures across all warehouse employees
  • Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring a clean and organized area, fully maintained equipment, and up-to-date training and management of employees; the work area must achieve compliance with global DC standards
  • Drive focus on error improvement and efficiency (minutes per box, labor variance); Conduct daily and weekly performance analysis  to identify the root cause of inventory cost variances and deliver corrective actions 
  • Drive continuous improvement by guiding the production  team in identifying improvement opportunities in safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations. 
  • Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer. 
  • Other duties as assigned

At a minimum, you have: 

  • 5+ years of  and/or Supply Chain experience, preferably with a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or a related field
  • Strong understanding of OHS and Food Safety and its application in a warehouse and production environment
  • Experience with managing a large-scale teams and operations

  • Strong understanding of warehouse systems and controls
  • Professional certifications and/or licenses with Lean Six Sigma preferred
