ROLE MISSION

Working in partnership with our client, the Senior Social Media Manager will be the calm and reliable voice with a track record in social media driving content and conversation for one of the world’s largest food brands, managing the page’s organic presence, with a community of over 900,000 followers.

This rare opportunity is perfect for an experienced professional and strategic individual who can translate campaign strategy and brand personality into conversations and content on social media, understands how to best leverage social’s unique strengths, has a keen eye for winning social content and sees the bigger picture for a brand’s presence online.

 

THIS ROLE IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF...

You’ve already logged some serious hours helping to take brands from single digit likes to online behemoths with a loyal army of followers with a focus on TikTok, Instagram and Twitter. Now you’re ready to take a step back from the front line and put more of your creative energy into strategically planning a brand’s growth in social while cultivating those under you. Sure, you’ll still get to flex your content creation muscles from time to time, but you understand the bigger picture on social and how brands can tap into the unique strengths of different platforms to play the long game.

You’ll also have a natural interest in food, fashion, music, and pop culture, with an understanding of the Gen Z culture – online and offline

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

This fast-paced role needs a confident, strategic and high-energy individual, who will live and breathe one of our most exciting clients. Proactivity and organisation is key. With a busy campaign calendar and a chance to attend exclusive influencer brand events abroad, this role allows you to make your mark in an already established and high-performing team. You’ll manage a small social team – a midweight social media manager and a content creator, reporting to the Social Lead.

Content, Listening and Engagement in collaboration with a junior social media manager:

  • Oversee and responsible for the end-to-end social organic execution.
  • Monitor feeds for relevant opportunities to inject the brand into culture, particularly within fashion, music, art, gaming and food.
  • Spot new influencers and advocacy opportunities
  • Track trending topics
  • Oversee all social creative e.g. reels, tiktoks, tweets and copy.
  • Work with your brand to develop frameworks to consistently gift and surprise and delight your community
  • Manage and nurture a network of brand advocates (or our ‘Brand 100’), identifying key engagement opportunities in organic planning
  • Champion platform best practice across all content developed for your brand – ensuring content is platform native
  • Advise wider agency teams on best practice and suggest copy and content ideas for talent partners
  • Drive community growth with fandoms within brand’s passion points

Planning and client partnership

  • Work closely with the Social Lead to dissect and interrogate client campaign briefs and translate into the social world, aligning on strategy and execution.
  • Be your client’s trusted contact and advisor on all things social – sometimes troubleshooting on WhatsApp and feeding into broader campaign plans
  • Work collaboratively with an integrated agency team across PR, Creative, Production etc.
  • Craft and champion Tone of Voice guidance for FAQ and copy for brand’s social channels
  • Leading and/or supporting development of Community Engagement and Social Channel strategy workstreams
  • Plan and create social content calendars
  • Present content ideas and brand social strategy to clients
  • Work collaboratively with team to write and brief design/ content creator
  • Run bi-weekly meetings and quarterly reporting sessions with the Social Lead

Personnel Management:

  • Reviewing work from more junior members of the team, providing actionable and concise feedback to improve standard of output as well as educate wider team
  • Training and Mentoring of more junior members of team, potentially as a Line Manager but if not through collaborative working across projects
  • Setting clear, measurable expectations and goals for projects as well as for the personal development of potential line reports

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL 

  • This role is best suited to someone with 4-5 years’ experience working in social media agency side.
  • Level-headed, strategic thinker who has a grasp of the workings of the brand world
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive - ability to spot opportunities to create content and help clients achieve their business ambitions
  • Creative flair and excellent written communications skills and great copywriting.
  • Keen interest in digital trends and popular culture
  • Works well under pressure
  • Nuanced and thorough knowledge of social platforms – and how brands can best leverage them to achieve commercial results

WHAT EXPERIENCE WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL 

  • Work in FMCG or food, fashion, lifestyle or beauty brands
  • Stakeholder management, including internal, cross-department, clients
  • Evidence of gravitas with previous clients
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Work with a social media management tool
  • Understanding of paid media and the role of influencers and creators
  • Previous experience working exposed to strategy and client-management roles
  • Reporting and data analysis
