What we do

Join a team of passionate and hardworking entrepreneurs to transform healthcare!

Working in the tech team at Doctolib involves building innovative products and features to improve the daily lives of care teams and patients. We work in feature teams in an agile environment, while collaborating with engineering, design, and business teams.

What you'll do

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer or Staff Engineer to join our Core Web Frontend Team and help us become the #1 digital and secure medical companion for patients.

More specifically, you'll join a team of engineers, designers and accessibility specialists working on advanced frontend development topics, with a strong focus on our own design system, "Oxygen".

As a frontend "platform" team, they support and empower other teams contributing to common frontend libraries and other frontend code, and help spread state-of-the-art workflows and practices. They regularly craft new components for our designers and developers, leveraging advanced Typescript and Accessibility standards and ensuring high reusability of the design system across our codebases. They provide core libraries that underpin our entire frontend architecture, write supporting tooling, improve frontend Developer Experience and help tame and reduce frontend code technical debt organization-wide.

They are mindful of the overall performance of our websites, and “enable” other teams to create and maintain optimized frontend applications and libraries by defining and implementing strong, future-proof internal standards and quality levels.

As a Senior Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with Feature teams: You will work closely with our Feature teams, ensuring that the platform aligns with the needs and requirements of our developers.
  • Driving improvements: You will continuously evaluate new technologies and processes, striving for enhancements, and implementing them as necessary to optimize our development practices.
  • Defining best practices: You will be responsible for defining best practices, known as "golden paths," for software development and deployment. This includes automation, testing, and security measures, in collaboration with our SREs, Security teams, and other domain experts.
  • Developing and maintaining tools and services: You will create and maintain tools and services that facilitate the implementation of best practices. These resources will assist developers in building and deploying applications more efficiently.
  • Collaborating on roadmap delivery: You will actively contribute to the delivery of roadmap items, working closely with the rest of the team to achieve our collective goals.

As a Staff Software Engineer, beyond what we expect from a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for everything above, plus:

  • Taking leadership of delivering components and frameworks used by other Doctolib engineering teams
  • Helping other teams align with our latest standards, tools and best practices through appropriate coaching, mentoring and internal advocacy.
  • Contributing on setting technical vision and defining the roadmap for the next quarters
  • Implementing changes mostly in TypeScript but with possible incursions outside of pure frontend (shell scripts, Ruby, Go, Java)
  • Joining us on our quest to continuously improve the way we work
Who you are

If you don’t meet all the requirements below but believe this opportunity matches your expectations and experience, we still encourage you to apply!

You could be our next team mate if you:

  • Have 5+ (Senior) or 7+ (Staff) years of experience in Engineering;
  • Are eager to be hands-on with our stack: we use React and TypeScript, with a mostly Ruby on Rails backend;
  • Understand the value of testing your code;
  • Have the ability to adapt to the most efficient technologies to solve issues;
  • Have proven experiences developing efficient, maintainable and secure products;
  • Are comfortable speaking English in your day by day with the team.

Now, it would be fantastic if you:

  • Are familiar with creating, improving and driving adoption of design systems;
  • Have a great understanding of JS/TS building and packaging processes;
  • Have a great understanding of web applications performances tuning and SEO;
  • Have a great understanding of cloud infrastructures and security topics;
