The Role

We are looking for a Senior Technical Programme Manager to join our Restaurant Data Platform team on a fixed-term contract until end of December 2024. You will report into the Staff Technical Programme Manager. This is a hybrid role, with expectations to come into our London office three times a week.

What you will do:

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including product managers, software engineers, analytics engineers and commercial leads to ensure the successful development of the Deliveroo restaurant data platform. You will work with these teams to establish efficient delivery processes and artefacts (e.g., backlogs, requirements, and technical diagrams)
  • In the initial phases, you will support the product manager and engineering teams in defining the requirements for the restaurant data platform, including mapping out the current state of restaurant performance data and defining the desired future state.
  • Coordinate with teams during the execution phase, ensuring they follow a standard method for capacity planning, backlog grooming, prioritisation and launch.
  • Champion the adoption and path towards team maturity within an Agile framework (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) that optimises the team’s velocity and self organisation.
  • Track dependencies, risks and issues for the assigned programme, and facilitate their resolution, working with other stakeholders.
  • Work with the wider TPM community to enable cross-tech planning processes, prioritisation and dependency management.
  • Implement solutions for surfacing information on team progress and delivery in a consistent format, ensuring all stakeholders are informed on the progress of the programme and clear on what’s required of them.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience as a project manager, programme manager, product owner or scrum master
  • Domain expertise of data platforms, or of the wider tech landscape across applications, infrastructure, security and data
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders (technical and non-technical) across a set of diverse geographically distributed teams
  • Experience managing large-scale projects with multiple dependencies
  • Ability to tailor communication and reporting in accordance with the needs and expectations of the audience
  • High degree of data literacy, in particular data used by businesses (e.g., restaurants) to track and improve their performance (e.g., sales, prep time, open hours, menu conversion).
  • Ability to break down complex and ambiguous problems and translate them into clear technical requirements while also being articulating the value for non-technical audiences.
