Viator’s B2B research team seeks a seasoned researcher to work on projects for our B2B2C marketplace. Our work ranges from exploratory to evaluative, from qualitative to quantitative. We work closely with designers, product managers, product marketing managers, data analysts, and engineering to collaborate on devising that best solution for both tour/experience operators and travelers. 

The right candidate will be experienced in qualitative methods such in-depth interviewing, concept testing and usability testing, experienced with designing and analyzing surveys, passionate about research and travel, comfortable in a fast moving organization, and excited to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Actively participate in cross-functional team discussions to understand various user needs, and to identify and define new marketplace features

  • Define research strategy and manage multiple projects across a variety of methodologies

  • Design and conduct qualitative studies (discovery, needs analysis, usability studies, click-tests etc.), analyze data, and proactively share insights and supporting data  

  • Own the research process from end-to-end including the ideation, development and execution of research plans

  • Create and field surveys, analyze responses, and report learnings

  • Use your creativity and breadth of your research toolkit to determine the best method for each study, gathering insights from a variety of audiences

  • Communicate research findings internally in clear and compelling ways

  • Work cross-functionally with design, product marketing, and product management leadership

 

Who you are:

  • Minimum BA/BS degree in psychology, communication, statistics or other related field

  • Advanced degree in HCI or other behavioral or social sciences a plus

  • 5+ years of professional applied research experience

  • Experience implementing design choices based on user research

  • Thorough understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies 

  • Extensive experience with qualitative research methods in user research

  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to present research insights and supporting data in a clear fashion

  • Experience of presenting to, influencing and challenging senior stakeholdersAbility to ask, and answer, meaningful and impactful questions

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with quantitative research methods (e.g. surveying) and statistics a plus

  • Experience in B2B, travel, hospitality, influencer marketing or social media a plus 

  • This is a hybrid role with some office attendance required
