Social Media Manager, Eater
We’re seeking a Social Media Manager who can help execute a strategy to promote and amplify our most ambitious journalism in the tone and editorial sensibility of Eater. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for creating and publishing daily social content, growing and engaging with the Eater community, and working closely with Eater’s Associate Director of Audience, Engagement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Execute and enhance Eater’s organic strategy to grow audience, engagement, and traffic on all active social platforms
- Write social copy for Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, and more
- Schedule social posts and videos, and manage the content calendar
- Produce custom Instagram assets, social-first graphics, and other visuals in collaboration with the design team
- Analyze and interpret traffic data, enhancing best practices and finding trends as they emerge
- Stay up-to-date with best practices, current technologies, and trends in social media and communicate them back to the Eater editorial team
- Collaborate with the audience team to develop social content and promote editorial packages on social platforms
- Support city editors with social platforms, including collaborations, assets, and social management
- Work closely with the video team to support social video scheduling and packaging for YouTube
- 2-3 years prior experience growing an audience on social media, especially in food or news media, or a related field
- Strong writing and editing skills, impeccable attention to detail, and an intolerance for errors
- Eagerness to learn and develop Eater's tone and voice
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (including simple color and exposure corrections, layers styling, text effects, and photo healing tools) and a strong visual eye
- Ability to concisely explain a complicated news story on social platforms
- Proven ability to interpret social analytics into actionable insights
- Experience with Dash Hudson or a similar scheduling platform is a plus
- Experience producing, shooting, and editing video content is a plus, but not required

PAY TRANSPARENCY
The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
