✅The Role
We often find ourselves playing cat and mouse games with pirates who are at the forefront of web technologies. A key part of the solutions we build are our scraping frameworks, which are pivotal to us discovering content quickly so we can get itremoved.The technologies we currently use are for the scraping framework include:
- Python, Golang, C#/.NET
- Kubernetes and cloud-native apps in Google Cloud Platform (GCP
- Version control and CI/CD with GitLab/GitHub
- Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse
✅Responsibilities and Duties
We expect you to work with the technical lead and other engineers on the team to create, maintain, and test scrapers for our web scraping framework.
✅Essential
- Have 3-5 years of experience writing applications using Python or another object-oriented language
- Have some experience in web scraper development, web crawling strategies, and popular web automation frameworks and libraries (Selenium, Puppeteer, Playwright, etc.)
- Have knowledge of how to traverse the Document Object Model (DOM) using XPath, CSS selectors, regular expressions (Regex), and/or JSON path expressions
- Have a sharp, logical, observant, and inquisitive mind with an appetite for learning new technologies
- Possess good communication and collaboration skills with other engineers and business stakeholders
