About the job

The position is required to enable us to take the Twilio User experience of Voice product to the next level through the implementation of modern Web experience through our Console and Applications. The experiences you build will be relied upon by Twilio's largest customers on a daily basis, and you will continually expand and refine the experience to meet customers' changing needs.

  Responsibilities

In this role, you'll:

  • Collaborate with different stakeholders including product managers, designers and other engineers to solutionize, design and review solutions to deliver a meaningful product for the customers.
  • Improve Twilio’s web experience in both big and small ways: Build new features and improve performance, usability and accessibility issues. 
  • Help to resolve technical issues and blockers for internal and external customers. 
  • Own and lead the solution across all the software development lifecycle from conceptualization to production deployment.
  • Drive high engineering standards on the team through code review, automated testing, and mentoring. We care what our code looks like, and you should too. 
  Qualifications

Required:Experience with modern Web technologies, including React, TypeScript and Nodejs.

  • 5+ years of Javascript experience, including concepts like asynchronous programming, closures, types and ES6. 
  • 5+ years experience in building UI products using frontend frameworks and web components. Ideally significant experience with following technologies React, TypeScript, Redux. 
  • 5+ years of HTML/CSS experience, including concepts like layout, specificity, cross browser compatibility, and accessibility. 
  • Experience with REST API design and services development using Nodejs, specially developing reverse proxies. 
  • Experience with large systems and complex code bases as well as source code control systems such as Github.
  • Exposure to instrumentation to track user behavior such as Heapanalytics, datadog,  as well as produce unit and automated tests using tools such as jest, cypress.
  • Experience on building/setting CI/CD pipelines/processes.
  • Strong understanding and expertise on UX - you should be able to relate to UX patterns and how best to build them. 
  • You have strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills in person, on paper or in code. You can explain technical concepts to product managers, fellow engineers and support. 
  • Experience on working with asynchronous communication on a multidisciplinary and international team. 
  • You are curious, collaborative, humble and are a Doer.

Desired:Technically savvy and experience with the cloud, APIs, communication Protocols, enterprise software is a plus.

  • PHP experience is a plus
  • Buildkite experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)

This role will be remote, and based in Colombia.
