Building strong teams is a vitally important aspect of the role, so you’ll be heavily involved in recruitment, onboarding and personal development of engineers. Working closely with the teams’ Product Managers and Agile Coaches to make sure they are balancing quality and flow with delivery of phenomenal products to our customers.

This role in a nutshell:

You will look after a brand-new squad in OVO’s contact centre space, which is using groundbreaking Generative AI technology to bring a new level of automation. 

Looking after a multi-disciplinary squad (a mix of direct and professional services based personnel) of software, data and machine learning engineers. You’ll work closely with colleagues in Data Science and Product to help craft the roadmap and balance moving at pace with robust engineering practices.

You’ll focus on developing your team’s skills, alongside architecture, data pipelines, integration, security, quality and continuous development.

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager who…

  • Is passionate about technical excellence, you’ll find a strong culture of agile, automated testing, frequent deployments to production, and using agile practices
  • Loves working with multi-functional teams that are product focussed, and are responsible for the entirety of their product, including feature conception, architecture, coding, testing, continuous deployment, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, alerting, setting SLOs, and support
  • Has experience of working with novel technologies, preferably in the machine learning and AI space

We’ll pay you between £75,000 and £100,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
