As a Software Licensing Analyst on the Asset Management Team, you will be responsible for managing software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and optimize usage across the organization. You will work closely with vendors, and internal departments to track software licenses, monitor usage, and maintain accurate records. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Position Expectations/Role Responsibilities/What you’ll do
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of software licenses, including license types, renewal dates, and usage metrics
  • Monitor software usage and compliance with vendor agreements to proactively identify potential issues or cost savings opportunities
  • Work closely with Procurement to negotiate favorable licensing terms and ensure compliance with license agreements
  • Provide guidance and support to internal departments on software license procurement, usage, and compliance
  • Develop and maintain documentation and reports on software license management activities for audit and reporting purposes
  • Stay current on software licensing trends, and best practices to ensure compliance and optimize licensing strategies
  • Assist the Asset Management Manager in the development and implementation of asset management policies, procedures, and standards to support effective software license management
  • Develop reports and dashboards to track software license usage and compliance
Qualifications/Requirements/We’re looking for someone with
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other data analysis tools
  • 2 years of experience in software asset management, software licensing, or related field
  • Knowledge of software licensing models, agreements, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with software license management tools and systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Measure of Success
  • Achieve and maintain a compliance rate of at least 90% with software license agreements
  • Conduct quarterly compliance audits and maintain records to track compliance rates accurately
  • Increase software license utilization rates by 15% over the next year through optimization efforts
  • Successfully complete a comprehensive software license audit within 120 days of starting the position
  • Ensure accurate and updated documentation of software licenses, entitlements, and usage to support compliance and decision-making processes
