📍London (UK) | 💰salary will be dependant on experience + Benefits | Hear from the team ✨|
About us:
We’re here to make money work for everyone and we're doing things differently. For too long, banking has been obtuse, complex and opaque.
We want to change that and build a bank with everyone, for everyone across the globe. Our amazing community suggests features, test the app and give us constant feedback so we can build something everyone loves.
We're focused on solving problems, rather than selling financial products. We want to make the world a better place and change people's lives through Monzo.
About our Special Projects Team:
Our small and high impact Special Projects Team works across the company. We identify and assess new opportunities, work with new and potential investors, and support our executive, product and operations teams with commercial nous and analytical thinking. We do what it takes to help Monzo grow.
To succeed, you should be excited about scaling Monzo, collaborating with partners and colleagues, navigating the regulatory landscape and using data to shape your thinking to build something bigger than yourself. We'd want you to apply if you are underwhelmed by the status quo of banking and finance today and are interested in bringing your brainpower, commercial and quantitative skills and grit to creating something better.
You can expect that you will come to work on a wide range of projects and you thrive on ambiguity. This means you will take a crucial role in a part of Monzo that you care about.
There is no shortage of things to do as Monzo grows. Previous Special Projects team members have gone on to take senior roles in our Partnerships, Finance, Product and Operations teams.
Your day to day might look like:

- Helping the team set goals and monitor performance
- Collaborating with external partners from selecting, negotiating and establishing working relationships with a variety of vendors
- Working across Monzo with a wide variety of stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of projects within International Expansion
You should apply if:
- You’re excited about working for a startup team within a scale up company to launch in new markets
- You'll have a founder mindset and take ownership of your work
- You have the urge and resilience to challenge the status quo and make things better
- You're excellent at managing and influencing stakeholders
- You're commercially minded and excited to collaborate with external partners and other stakeholders to get the best outcomes for our customers
- You thrive in ambiguity, ask incisive questions and take a structured approach to problem-solving
- You're in your element understanding and solving complex problems, whether it is based on regulation, legal documents, business processes, user needs, technology or payment systems
- You're numerate and logic oriented
- You're humble but excited by what we're doing at Monzo
The following would be a bonus:
- Experience working in a high growth company on zero to one projects
