Wayfair Store Inventory Controller Specialist

Brief Overview of Position 

Wayfair's Physical Retail team is reinventing the shopping experience for Home by curating our portfolio of furniture, décor, housewares, and home improvement categories into one store- come be a part of it! We are seeking an Inventory Specialist to help launch and lead all inventory components and functions in the very first physical retail store. As an Inventory Specialist you will: Use Wayfair's inventory systems and tools to ensure "perfect orders run smoothly from the receipt of inbound units to the point of sale at the registers. Identify exceptions such as damage, short shipments, miss-shipments and reconcile with other partner teams. Manage exceptions related to department discrepancies, with an emphasis on daily and weekly audits. In addition, Assist with logistic responsibilities in coordination with the Logistics Lead & Logistics Manager. Receiving/system processing of units/shipments is also integrated as a necessity of this role.

What You'll Do • Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of all inventories by performing daily audits and maintaining acomprehensive Cycle Count Program• Use Scan technology to document pertinent carton level information, including condition, quantity, andlocation of inventory.• Unload and Receive inventory which will require manually moving large and heavy goods at times.• Proactively monitor order management systems to ensure that all inventory has been received properlyand detailed descriptions of any overages/shortages/damages are captured accurately.• Use Warehouse Management Software and Google Sheets to sort through Cycle Count data• Audit inbound and outbound trucks on a regular basis• Perform regular and triggered Cycle Counts are accurate and up to date.• Provide direct input into existing user tools and make recommendations for improvements based on youreveryday experience.• Proficient use of ticketing system for exception management and problem solving• Communicate and collaborate effectively across other teams

What You’ll Need 

Education Qualifications• High School Diploma ReqExperience Qualifications• 1-3 years Inventory control experience, preferably in a retail environment Required• 1-3 years Strong computer skills including the ability to utilize and/or adapt to Microsoft Office or GoogleSuite Preferred• Must be detail-oriented and highly organized Required• Experience in Distribution and Logistics is a plus Preferred• Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure PreferredSkills and Abilities• Monitors aging inventory, markdowns and damage write-offs.• Effectively process vendor returns for recalls, dead/over stock inventory.• Experience in an inventory management or e-commerce role.Physical Demands• Stationary Position - Constantly• Move/Traverse - Constantly• Stationary Position/Seated - Rarely• Transport/Lifting & Carrying Min. of 75 lbs. - Frequently • Exerting Force/Pushing Or Pulling 75 lbs. - Frequently• Ascend/Descend - Frequently• Balancing - Frequently• Position Self/Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling - Frequently• Reaching, Handling, Grasping - Frequently• Feeling - Constantly • Communicate/Talking& Hearing - Constantly• Repetitive Motions - Constantly• Coordination - Constantly
