Mission

As a Sr. Certification Exam Developer at Databricks, you will apply your experience and expertise in exam design, development, and maintenance for the Databricks Certification Program. In this role, you will work for the Manager of Certification Development to design, develop, analyze, and maintain Databricks accreditation and certification exams in areas of data engineering, data analysis, data architecture, machine learning, and generative AI.As a member of the Certification Development team, you’ll work closely with global stakeholders, technical subject matter experts, and technical curriculum developers to deliver certification content that meets the needs of Databricks partners, customers, and the entire Data + AI industry.

Outcomes

  • Facilitate job-task analysis to design exam blueprints for high-stakes, proctored certification exams.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule SMEs to assist in all aspects of item development.
  • Follow industry best practices in facilitating item development workshops (item writing training, psychometric editing, technical review) with subject matter experts to create new exams and maintain up-to-date test forms for existing exams.
  • Conduct standard-setting (Angoff, Bookmark) sessions to determine the cut score.
  • Utilize item banking tools and exam publishing systems for exam development operations and delivery.
  • Maintain certification exams in accordance with industry standards and psychometric principles.
  • Monitor exam performance on an ongoing basis to ensure they meet the target roles/ competencies and program requirements.
  • Develop and maintain certification enablement materials, including exam guides, certification web pages, sample test items, guided exam prep journeys, and prep courses.
  • Function as a company-wide thought leader and subject-matter expert on assessment principles and best practices, along with educating Bricksters on said principles and best practices.
  • Provide answers and support to the Support Team and/or respond to escalated support issues related to our exams.

Skills/Experience

  • Able to learn new technologies quickly
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • 5+ years of experience developing highly technical assessments based on assessment best practices
  • [Preferred] Experience with topics related to big data analytics such as Apache Spark™, data science, machine learning, and cloud
  • [Preferred] Experience with software development, especially in one or more of these languages: Python, SQL
