As our customers adopt LLMs and Generative AI for their business, we’re building the next-generation AI platform to accelerate their development. We’re seeking a dedicated engineering team lead to guide building our next-generation AI compute platform that’s optimized for LLMs and distributed training.
You will report directly to the Director of Engineering.
The Impact You Will Have:
- You will lead a talented engineering team to build services and runtime to increase customers’ AI workloads.
- You will create a strategic vision for the team and product. Simplify the product experience by creating AI models and workflows. You will improve adoption of important ML capabilities.
- You will develop engineering leaders and support engineers in their career development.
- You will grow the team by hiring engineering talent.
- You will build processes to implement product vision and strategy according to organizational goals and priorities.
What we look for:
- 5+ years experience working in cloud infrastructure and platform services.
- Experience building and managing teams, who meet the Databricks hiring standards.
- Experience working with product management, and directly with customers; ability to understand customer needs.
- Experience defining and meeting SLOs for available systems.
- Experience building AI/ML infrastructure.
- BS in Computer Science or related field (Masters or higher).

Pay Range Transparency
Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
