SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...

We are seeking an exceptional Sr. Finance Manager to support the Marketing organization.  This role is part of the Go-to-Market FP&A team and will be the primary finance business partner to senior leaders for the Marketing group. Success in this role would be represented by the manager being able to anticipate the needs and/or business risks of every function supported and demonstrate an ability to proactively fulfill those needs and/or prevent or minimize business risks.

The Sr. Manager for Marketing FP&A will be the primary finance business partner to the Chief Marketing Officer, direct staff and various members of the Marketing organization. This involves providing strategic thought leadership and operational finance support, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting of financial and operational information and other related FP&A initiatives. Responsibilities include deep-dive analytics on deals’ pipeline, ROI metrics, development and maintenance of standard reporting packages for senior management covering key financial and operational metrics, influencing strategic and operational decisions as well as initiating and running various special projects/ad-hoc reporting.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING...

  • Be the strategic finance business partner for Marketing, providing financial controllership over their headcount and expense budgets and advocating for their needs as appropriate
  • Engage with Marketing leadership, understand their goals and objectives and influence strategic direction in the achievement of those goals and objectives
  • Provide analytical, decision-making support for deals’ pipeline performance measurement, calculation, and methodology
  • Drive Marketing investment portfolio management decisions in conjunction with Marketing Leadership Team
  • Develop and maintain recurring management reporting packages summarizing key trends and relevant analysis and monthly reviews with Marketing leaders
  • Coordinate the budget and forecasting analysis process to provide timely budget vs actual reporting
  • Leverage investment frameworks such as LTV/CAC, Make vs. Buy, Marketing mix, Headcount capacity planning to support decision making    
  • Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Financial Process 
  • Partner closely with Procurement and Marketing leaders on Contract financial analysis and recommendations 
  • Develop and implement process and system improvements, including budget tracking as well as the calculation of success metrics
  • Be the go-to subject matter expert on all things finance for the broader Marketing organization, providing training and direction as needed
  • Support team GTM Finance leads with ad hoc Partner analysis & discussions 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

  • BA degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent; MBA a plus
  • 8+ years of progressively complex roles in a financial function with financial planning and analysis experience/understanding
  • Experience with marketing pipeline measurement, tracking, reporting strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of providing financial support to senior executives and teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work well under pressure
  • Willingness and curiosity to take deep dives into status quo and drive effective changes that scale
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, project management and financial modeling abilities
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with all levels of the organization, through strong relationship building, influencing, negotiating and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with NetSuite and Anaplan a plus
  • You will be based in Santa Clara. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 3 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.

The annual base salary range is: $141,000-$212,000. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
