We are seeking an experienced Financial Communications Senior Manager to join Elastic’s Global Communications team to work closely with Investor Relations and the company’s senior leadership team. The Financial Communications Manager is responsible for working with IR to develop consistent themes about the company's financial performance that can be used and understood internally and externally.

The chosen candidate will design communications strategies that consider both proactive and reactive tactics. They will maintain a balance of proactive guidance and strategy with flawless delivery to become a trusted partner to the IR and leadership team. They must have a strong track record of delivering results by producing high-quality, clear content, a demonstrated ability to earn and maintain trust across stakeholders at all levels of seniority, and insist on highest standards for quality, attention to detail while working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Provides high-quality support to senior executives and internal corporate communications departments to bolster the company’s corporate strategy.

What You’ll Do:
  • Leads communications aspects of the quarterly results cycle, including writing the CEO earnings script, creating the earnings news bullets and quote, helping develop executive-level briefing documents containing key messages and Q&As, and putting the press release over the wire.
  • Work with the PR team on key initiatives, partnering closely with the comms team and IR to tell a coordinated and compelling story, identify appropriate opportunities and ensure alignment of messaging and timing.
  • Monitors and analyzes industry and market trends, as well as competitor activities and earnings releases, to provide insightful recommendations and guidance to senior management on investor sentiment and market positioning.
  • Identifies, develops, and supports unique storylines, content, keynotes and thought-leadership opportunities relative to the company's corporate strategy.
  • Conducts interviews with sales personnel to draft key customer mentions for inclusion in the earnings script.
  • Stays abreast of customer stories and new and emerging generative AI use cases.
  • Stays informed on industry news and flags issues and trends for leaders in a timely manner.
  • Reports out the impact of financial communications on at least a quarterly basis, contributing to a broader awareness and perception report.
  • Collaborates with the executive team to develop financial messaging and ensure consistent and accurate communication of the company's financial results and growth prospects to the investment community.
What You Bring:
  • Bachelors degree
  • 7+ years relevant work experience gained in finance communications; ideally this candidate would have experience in the tech industry
  • Investor relations experience is a plus
  • Strong writing and editing skills; firm grasp of industry lingo and general communications practices of public tech companies, including financial reporting processes
  • Ability to communicate and present materials and concepts in a clear, effective, and persuasive manner
  • Ability to conduct and review comprehensive and targeted research and analysis and apply industry knowledge
  • Proactive idea generator and critical thinker
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple work streams at a fast pace, with acute attention to detail, completeness and accuracy

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.
