Elastic is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to join the FP&A team supporting our Chief Customer Officer. You will report into our Finance Director, Customer Success.

We are looking to add an individual contributor to the team who has experience supporting a SaaS software sales or post-sales business unit from a detailed finance perspective. The ideal person will have extensive software industry experience, be able to build complex financial models, solve unstructured problems, synthesize large datasets and draw relevant conclusions. The candidate will have a strong work ethic, and rigorous attention to detail, have excellent communication and organizational skills and high integrity.

About the Team

The Customer Success FP&A team is responsible for supporting our Customer Engineering, Support, and Professional Services organizations managing the overall P&L including financial reporting, forecasting and planning. Some of the key activities performed by the team include revenue and cost modeling and forecasting as well as establishing and maintaining critical metric reporting that measures the true success of our clients' outcomes. The Senior Manager’s initial focus will be supporting our growing Customer Engineering team, helping them manage, measure and forecast our cloud consumption and self-service businesses.

What You Will Be Doing:

This is a high visibility, expansive role where you will work across two main areas:

  • Customer Success Forecasting/Planning: Partner closely with business leaders to create, manage, and analyze revenue, spend, headcount and operational KPIs; Build models to assist with strategic decisions and influence outcomes; Build quarterly and annual budgets aligned to company strategy; Contribute to the monthly close process, including reviewing accruals, reconciling actuals vs forecast for revenue, spend and headcount, and presenting findings to senior leadership; and
  • Customer Engineering: Prepare extensive analysis around customer trial conversations, renewal rates, expansion rates and SaaS consumption scenarios and trends to ensure our customers are maximizing the outcomes of their Elastic product and services purchases.
  • In Addition, You Will:
    • Solely manage and forecast spend for the Customer Engineering group, which will involve working with senior leaders to understand investment needs while ensuring budget accountability
    • Assist with the monthly financial close, budget-vs-actual analysis, and executive reporting, among other activities
    • Collaborate with the Customer Success Group and others in the organization on cross-functional projects
    • Have a strong eye for business and critical thinking with a focus on driving financial performance and optimizing resources
    What You Bring Along:
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field. MBA or advanced degree a plus
    • 8+ years of experience in FP&A, software, investment banking or management consulting preferably with familiarity with SaaS companies
    • Experience managing a business from a complete P&L perspective creating processes that ensure forecast accuracy
    • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with the ability to translate sophisticated data into practical insights
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills that is effective communicating financial information to both financial and non-financial partners
    • Experience using software tools such as Tableau, Adaptive, Salesforce, NetSuite, BiqQuery, and other business intelligence platforms
    • Strong work ethic who is willing to work both autonomously and collaboratively and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
