The Senior Manager of Policy Communications will oversee Pinterest’s burgeoning policy communications work in Washington, DC.

As Pinterest steps further into the conversation around mental health and emotional well-being on social media, as well as how it builds AI responsibly and operates competitively in the digital advertising industry, we need a leader with substantial policy coms experience to help us communicate with policy stakeholders and understand Pinterest’s POV. This person must also be a competent project manager and will need to be able to oversee trips to DC as Pinterest execs step into the conversation.

What you’ll do:

  • Project manage across numerous company functions as Pinterest grows, seeking to be a key player in cross-functional policy conversations and decisions
  • Execute trips and meetings for leadership team members with focus on making effective use of their time on the ground that helps advance Pinterest’s policy and regulatory goals
  • Work cross functionally with policy, corporate affairs, product and legal to efficiently manage the company’s brand and reputation at external events in and related with Washington
  • Manage and build relationships with tech policy reporters, experts, academics and other influential stakeholders
  • Working across teams, build and execute external media and stakeholder engagement strategy on policy issues that matter to Pinterest

What we’re looking for:

  • Based in Washington, DC with substantial DC-based experience
  • Strong relationships with policy reporters, government officials, think tanks, associations, and other policy stakeholders and organizations
  • Familiarity with our policy stances and issues, including but not limited to misinformation and teen mental health, online content moderation, technology regulation, artificial intelligence, and digital advertising
  • Ability to work well cross functionally and coordinate across policy, communications, legal, corporate affairs; and project manage for executive trips and top-tier policy events
  • 10+ years experience in policy and/or comms role, preferable experience working at a tech company or in tech policy

Final salary is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.
