About the job

Twilio is looking for a Sr. Manager of Sales Compensation to join our Revenue Operations team and lead a team of dedicated sales compensation professionals.  In this role you will lead as a trusted advisor for the GTM organization owning the design of incentive plans aligned to our strategic sales priorities, resolve and communicate compensation exception decisions, partner with the shared services compensation processing team and ensure our plan design drives sales outcomes while landing on budget. Furthermore, the ability to lead, coach and mentor your team to amplify their results is paramount.

A successful candidate has extensive experience with compensation policies, managing the feedback and recommendation during the Annual Planning cycles as it relates to compensation changes, and communicates effectively with reps, sales managers and executives alike.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Manage a team of 3-5 compensation professionals, coach and mentor them for their career development
  • Partner effectively with Sales leaders, managers, reps and our cross-functional shared service teams
  • Own the design, implementation and training of our Compensation plans to empower reps to achieve our strategic priorities
  • Define processes around case resolution and ensure timely action and follow-ups
  • Partner with HR and Legal teams ensuring our plans adhere to specific country laws and policies along with Twilio’s compensation philosophies
  • Articulate complex calculations or concepts into easily digestible explanations, provide incentive statement and reporting enablement, and resolve escalations 
  • Standardize and manage employee+quota data as it relates to performance and compensation and ensuring cross-functional teams have the correct Xactly set up for accurate compensation payments 
  • Craft executive presentations for company leadership and stakeholders utilizing performance results and key compensation metrics

Required:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Sales Compensation in Software / Technology industry, Usage-based revenue/compensation schemes are greatly valued, but not required
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Experience with Xactly or other Sales Incentive management programs
  • Advanced knowledge of sales incentive programs
  • Excellence in structuring complex problems, developing solutions, and crafting recommendations concisely and effectively

Location

This role will be remote, and based in the USA.

Approximately 10% travel is anticipated to attend offsites and all hands.

*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, and Washington. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $172,080.00 - $215,100.00.
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or the San Francisco Bay area, California: $191,200.00 - $239,000.00.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
  • This role is eligible to earn commissions. 

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
