Sr. Site Reliability Engineer - FinOps (Hybrid)
Our Team
The HashiCorp FinOps Engineering team is responsible for driving and improving HashiCorp’s internal FinOps capabilities and culture. Our focus is on empowering cost-conscious decision making by enabling HashiCorp engineers to understand the cost efficiency of their systems through the democratization and attribution of cost and usage data. We seek to measure cultural progress by identifying a set of KPIs and foster continuous improvement through training, cross-functional collaboration, and gamification. This team will involve a mixture of software engineering, and cloud infrastructure engineering experience with a focus on both building tooling and cloud optimization expertise. The team will build strong cross functional partnerships across finance, product, and engineering to deliver meaningful outcomes.
About this Role
This engineering role is on a nascent, growing engineering team. The team is responsible for products that touch many areas of engineering organizations at HashiCorp, so applicants will need to excel at collaboration, have product-focused mindsets, and be comfortable iterating in an agile manner towards solutions.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Be responsible for and drive internal FinOps capabilities and culture.
- Enable cost-conscious engineering decisions through democratization and attribution of cost and usage data.
- Deliver elegant, user-focused solutions that improve our FinOps capabilities and foster FinOps engineering culture.
- Tactically drive and advocate for infrastructure efficiency improvements.
- Build technical skills and relationships within a team of engineers and SREs.
- Learn, teach, and collaborate cross functionally.
You may be a good fit for our team if:
- Professional backend software development experience in cloud environments
- Interested or experienced in FinOps practices and capabilities.
- Enjoy working on a variety of scopes spanning software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and SRE.
- Worked to drive efficiency improvements of software at scale.
- Experience collaborating cross functionally to deliver engineering culture change.
- Worked on infrastructure teams in customer-centric and agile organizations with empathy and compassion
- Worked with SaaS or another type of managed software offering
- Expertise in one or more of the major public clouds
