The Partnerships Domain ensures the seamless availability of Pleo across the software and service ecosystem, through the creation of high-impact distribution partnerships and powerful product integrations.

As a key member of our team, you'll have a significant role in shaping Pleo to fit into our customers ecosystem. You'll help us design, build, and manage a platform that will transform the way our users -, partners - and our own team - work. 

In essence, we're looking for a leader who sets the standard, not just with their code, but also with the way they work and the culture they promote. The teams scope include:

• Developing self-service tools, enabling external engineers to build, maintain and publish integrations seamlessly.
• Guiding our internal engineers as they design, build, and expose APIs.
• Empowering users to find, enable, and manage integrations with ease.

Your main responsibilities would include:

• Discovering and solving intricate problems, spanning across teams and domains, or even across the entire organization,
• Coaching and mentoring other engineers,
• Promoting and explaining the features and processes throughout the organization.

While coding isn’t one of the main responsibilities, it still is a key part of the job. It’s hard to put a number to how much time you’d be spending on code, since it will vary differently from month to month or project to project. That said, you can expect to spend between 30% and 50% of your time in code.

• Cloud environments / distributed systems / microservices (AWS, Google Cloud, Kubernetes),
• Architecting and building maintainable and scalable solutions,
• Authentication & Authorization for APIs,
• The role and responsibility of an API Gateway,
• Server-side languages (we mostly use Kotlin and TypeScript but we know you can learn new languages),
• Testing frameworks (Cypress, JUnit, Testcontainers) and principles,
• Observability and monitoring (Datadog).

• Are a great communicator,
• Know that Go is more than a board game,
• Never stop being curious and love learning about new languages, principles, and working styles,
• Coach others on your team to help them develop as engineers,
• Advocate for a more thorough code review process and do meaningful and thorough code reviews,
• You don’t just write code, you are a key player when designing the overall solution,
• Would be a person that they would actually like to have a coffee with,
• Thrives on solving intricate problems, readily jumps into breaking them down, gathering input and aligning on tradeoffs while driving towards a solution that fits the current context.
