ROLE MISSION

Working in partnership with our client, the Strategy Director: EMEA will act as a partner to the EMEA CEO and his Managing Partners and Business Directors to help deliver organic growth and new business through strategy and data-led solutions. The Strategy Director will be part of the EMEA leadership team and will help to identify opportunities for new strategic projects or roles, oversee the delivery of key projects, and support and coach the strategists on the team.

The Strategy Director will focus mainly on three growth opportunity accounts where they should be part of the OLIVER leadership team for that client but will also lean into new business pitches and other client opportunities when they arise. The role will focus mainly on ensuring that we are delivering best-in-class social strategy for these three clients, continual cultural and audience inspiration, and measurement, optimization and execution of learning on our work. The Strategy Director will champion the work we do in social as a key lever to create business success for these brands, and will work closely with our Global Head of Social to do this.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

The Strategy Director – EMEA has four key areas of responsibility:

1) Strategic leadership for our teams in our three growth opportunity accounts

  • Ensuring we deliver best in class social strategy and integration with other marketing comms
  • Developing strong senior client relationships and acting as their strategic partner; identifying new growth opportunities for OLIVER across strategy and data
  • Support the Global Head of Social  in the expansion of the social offer we deliver to these clients (e.g. growing Influencer/Creator)
  • Full participation in QBRs, and in driving the OLIVER Creative Scale to raise creative quality
  • Bringing together the strategic and social communities who work on these clients across and beyond EMEA

2) Sharing best practice and learning with the EMEA leadership team

  • Driving a programme of training sessions for strategists and client services team to up skill on our strategic capabilities support the organic growth strategy
  • Understanding and driving BTG tools (Pencil & CreativeX) to help push us further upstream with our production focused accounts
  • Regularly sharing best practice and case studies, and relevant insights for client teams at EMEA regional team meetings

3) Nurturing and developing the EMEA strategists

  • Creating the right structures to enable day to day mentoring and coaching, including a monthly connect
  • Sharing and cementing best practice
  • With the CSO, ensuring that they are connected to the wider agency

4) Guiding, or leading new business pitches

  • Guiding the strategic direction for new business pitches
  • Connecting the EMEA team with relevant specialists in the global strategy and data team
  • Driving the strategic element of the pitch, where appropriate

 

SUCCESS METRICS (NEXT 4 – 5 MONTHS)

Key clients

  • Establish strong relationship with senior clients – measured by CSat
  • Identify and pipeline an additional £80k of scope that wouldn’t have been possible without strategy

EMEA leadership

  • Establish strategy/social community, and foster knowledge exchange and best practice sharing – measured by Peakon
  • Upskill EMEA teams on key strategic products and services to drive organic growth (e.g. Social Strategy, Audience Intelligence, Data Strategy, CRM) – measured by delivery at EMEA town halls
