Where you’ll work:
Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.
You’ll be assigned to the closest one of our three hub offices, Bristol, Glasgow, or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

This role sits in a fast paced and autonomous corporate venture called OVO Solar & Heating, whose remit is to re-establish and grow OVO’s renewables business. The business was launched in March 2025 on a highly innovative Franchising business model, and within 4 months outpaced OVO’s best ever monthly solar sales. By the end of 2027, the unit is expected to be one of the largest solar & heat pump installation companies in the UK.
This role in a nutshell:
The role is akin to a Chief Of Staff role, and reports directly into the CEO of the business unit. It will engage very closely with all the internal unit functions - operations, sales, marketing, tech, business operations - as well as many of the main OVO Energy functions from marketing to finance.
Your key outcomes will be:
- Coordination and stakeholder management across the internal team as well as wider OVO to ensure the business unit is executing to plan. Consultant and partner to member(s) of the LT, building strong working relationships with their teams and with people across the business.
- Business Unit Strategy & Resource Allocation - 5 year plan, 2 year plan, budget - develop and iterate strategic documents and artefacts (including CLT and Board materials). This typically involves designing compelling presentations for company-wide meetings and speaking engagements
- Collaborate cross functionally across the organisation, partnering with the planning function and finance partners to ensure strategies are aligned to Financial outlooks, and dependencies are detailed.
- Key reporting Proactively prepare and present materials for Board meetings, collaborating with the central Strategy team as needed to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Analytics incl performance insights, dashboarding & data
- Market/Customer/Competitor research and benchmarking
- Business rhythm & comms incl key forums, offsites, all hands, stakeholders
- Ad Hoc Special Projects including working directly with Revenue and Operations teams, and with Franchisees. This is likely to include Sales & Marketing initiatives, establishing new revenue lines, developing new versions of the business model, developing the Franchisor team, and corporate strategy initiatives….

- Strong financial planning, business casing, analysis, and modelling skills
- Commercial and/or analytical experience, for example in strategy consulting roles
- Experience in a start-up or high-intensity, resource-lean venture

We’ll pay you between £59,000 - £78,000 depending on your specific skills and experience.
