At Lyft, community is what we are and it’s what we do. It’s what makes us different. To create the best ride for all, we start in our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization where all team members are recognized for what they bring.

This Supply Chain Data Lead role at Lyft supports the aggregation, synthesis, and dissemination of the supply chain data underlying all of Lyft’s micromobility hardware offerings, which includes pedal bikes, electric bikes, scooters, batteries, stations, and more! This hybrid role (partially in person and partially remote) sits within the TBS (Transit, Bikes, and Scooters) organization at Lyft.

The role will navigate the dynamic world of logistics, incoterms, supply chain optimizations, and global trends to furnish a consolidated view of the cost structure behind every product that we build. This team member will also flex their data engineering capabilities by expanding the footprint and maturing our data pipelines that connect our factories to our decision makers. Through all of this, the new hire will distill key takeaways and share actionable insights with Lyft’s engineering, supply chain, operations, and finance stakeholders.

An ideal candidate is comfortable operating in the gray and developing frameworks for thinking about everything from prevailing macro economic trends, to the nuances of contract terms, to the technical details of the components in our products. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing queries as they are defending their conclusion on the ideal supplier for an upcoming product.

Responsibilities:
  • Meld Lyft’s supply chain data with prevailing industry and macroeconomic trends to produce forecasts for micromobility hardware products and suppliers
  • Strike the appropriate balance required to make high impact, time sensitive decisions by weighing the need to develop frameworks, models, and visualizations with potentially imperfect or incomplete datasets
  • Play a critical role in NPI (New Product Introduction) development by working closely with cross-functional teams to influence product roadmap, supply chain strategy, and engineering solutions
  • Unify and integrate factory, logistics, and operational data with PLM systems such as Arena, Oracle, Genius, and internal tools
  • Drive the automation of rote data manipulation tasks related to the production, storage, and deployment of micromobility assets
  • Travel periodically to supplier manufacturing sites
Experience:
  • 3+ years of industry experience working in either Project Management, Hardware Engineering, or Data Engineering (a combination of these is a plus)
  • B.S. degree with a focus in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Data Engineering, Data Science, Economics, Finance, or Engineering or similar field
  • Experience with programming languages like SQL, Python, and/or Pandas/Jupyter
  • Experience in the world of hardware development and the NPI (New Product Introduction) process is a plus
  • Experience in supplier management, finance, logistics, manufacturing processes, and accounting is a plus
  • Experience with project management software such as Jira is a plus
  • Strong proficiency with Excel/GSheet formulas and Google AppScript is highly desirable
  • Experience with Tableau, Mode, Apache Airflow, or Git is highly desirable
Benefits:
  • Extended health and dental coverage options, along with life insurance and disability benefits
  • Mental health benefits
  • Family building benefits
  • Access to a Health Care Savings Account
  • In addition to provincial observed holidays, team members get 15 days paid time off, with an additional day for each year of service
  • 4 Floating Holidays each calendar year prorated based off of date of hire
  • 10 paid sick days per year regardless of province
  • 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Biological, adoptive, and foster parents are all eligible
